Sempervivum reacted to X-Raym in Shortcut for executing a macro
+1 for this
In 2010 I wrote an article for Envato about using Macros to quickly colorize comic strip using Macros with keyboard shortcut in Photoshop
https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-colorize-a-comic-strip-with-photoshop--psd-9100
It's unfortunate that this can't be replicate in Affinity, because of the lack of assignable keyboard shortcut to Macros.

Sempervivum got a reaction from Bartosz Borecki in Shortcut for executing a macro
Unfortunately the search button doesn't work, so I have to take the risk that this is already requested.
It should be possible to assign a shortcut to a macro which enables for executing it at once. As already requested for V1:
Best regards, Ulrich

Sempervivum reacted to mutaforme in How to save pen options for tutorials
Hi,
I should prepare some tutorials and I need to put several arrows on my pictures. I would like to use Affinity Photo.
The problem is that every time that I open a new image I have to select the tool, select the type of line, type of arrow, select the size and more. This is quite annoying.
Is it possibile to save the options for the next time?

Again: One feature that's basic and urgently needed is missing. When reading other postings it seems to me that this is no problem in other software. Why in AP??? ☹️

Sempervivum reacted to Dan C in Grid no longer working in Affinity Photo V2
I'm happy to confirm that the latest beta version, Affinity Photo 2.3.0.2114 has made the following improvements:
The default behaviour of View > Show Grid has been returned to match Affinity Photo V1's behaviour - meaning the 'Automatic' Grid will be applied, which changes the frequency of grid subdivisions as you zoom in/zoom out.
A new separate Pixel Grid option is available in all Affinity apps, under View > Show Pixel Grid. You can find out more about this feature here. If you wish to test these changes, you can sign up for our beta program using the information below:
Many thanks for your feedback here, as it helps us to continue to improve the Affinity Suite

I know that the developers class this as an enhancement rather than a bug but that is irrelevant..... It is a bigger problem than most bugs so it needs to be sorted!!

Sempervivum got a reaction from emmrecs01 in Colors or details reduced in JPG/PNG/TIFF export
"Not my business" - that's poor support.
Take a look at the thread I referenced in my initial posting. The support of Photomatix was excellent. They didn't write "not my business" although the issue was not located in Photomatix. Instead they analyzed the issue carefully, analyzed my images and even used Affinity Photo. That's support how it should be.

Hi Guys at Serif
Speaking of sticky things required I would also like to have the selections I make in Batch mode to be sticky so I don't have to select all of the settings each Time I want to batch process a bunch of images. Even the ability to save the settings until I change the save file would be a big help.
While this is not a bug it does pertains to PaulEC's and J3rry's comments above about having sticky settings to make work flows more user friendly.
If the devs could achieve this it would be great for all of those issues relating to multiple repeated key strokes required to achieve a simple task in other editing software.
Any improvements in this regard would be greatly appreciated as I have invested a lot of time and effort to stick with AP and want to continue if things can be made more streamlined. I have been seriously considering switching to Luminar Neo regardless of price and hope Serif is interested in retaining its user base.
Thanks, and fingers crossed.

I third or fourth or may be hundredth this request. Applying changes in develop persona is not the same as applying later. If they were the same, why do we even have a develop persona? I really need this feature on AP and this is one of the features that is pushing me to LR
I really wish this one feature doesn’t push me away from AP.

Sempervivum reacted to larsbre in Shortcut for applying macro
Is there a possibility for assigning a keyboard shortcut to apply a desired macro? This could speed up workflow significantly compared to clicking in the library panel...

Sempervivum reacted to JuanStevens in Shortcut for applying macro
This right here! Please. I used to create actions in PS that switch to certain layers and changed tools and options on the tools. I then assigned keyboard shortcuts to those. This greatly helps to improve productivity.

People that make macros like to apply them a lot.

Sempervivum got a reaction from walt.farrell in Colors wrong in exported image
In the meantime I was able to fix this issue. The source of the image is Photomatix, an HDR software. My Camera is an Olympus OM-1. As the images were noisy I denoised them by use of Topaz Denoise AI. The color profile in Topaz for saving was set to "Preserve Source Profile". I assumed that I wouldn't do anything wrong when using this. However the support of Photomatix found out that the Profile is ProPhoto. Obviously this was left unchanged by Photomatix and Affinity. But in some viewing software this profile is not available which results in wrong colors.
As I spent hours in optimizing this photo I converted the profile to sRGB in Affinity. For the future I intend to switch to sRGB from the beginning by setting this one in Topaz Denoise when saving.
Best regards, Ulrich

Sempervivum reacted to spiderpod7d in Grid no longer working in Affinity Photo V2
Hi All
I have created a preset for the grid & axis setting but every time I close an image I have to select my short cut and then click show gris. This slows my work flow. I have tried this in 2.2.1 and 2.2.0 (1903).
Any way we can have a user settings so that I can set this a permanent selection to save steps? Only only use this one grid.
I am running on Mac Pro Ventura 3.4 12 core with 96GB of ram.

Sempervivum reacted to JayR in Grid no longer working in Affinity Photo V2
This behaviour gets really annoying when you have to configure the grid before you can use it every time that you open a new photo. When I am opening and checking a lot of photos I often go back to using V1 as it is just easier.

Sempervivum reacted to fraser1234 in Batch process open tabs and batch export
I have been testing out Affinity Photo last few days. Have used photoshop for close to 20 years. I'm really impressed and would love to use Affinity Photo. The only thing that is tying to PS is the lack of features of Affinity's batch processing. I work with multiple images and once complete I need to export the image, then resize the image smaller, then export this image - this is repeated for a total of 6 resizes and exports. Unfortunately Affinity's 'macros' do not allow the export function. As soon as this feature is available I'd jump ship immediately.

Sempervivum reacted to PaulEC in Batch process open tabs and batch export
Well, it sounds like it would be handy to have these options.
As I said, personally I would particularly like to be able to add all open tabs to a batch (or panorama etc) job, rather than having to add them from a folder. I can see that if you're working on so many files at once (I never do!) it would make a big difference to your work flow,

PaulEC,
Maybe i've missed something, how do export the 30 images im working on and have open without individually going through each one and saving it?

Sempervivum reacted to Dimitrios in Grid no longer working in Affinity Photo V2
I use the grid a lot in almost all my pictures, and it's really annoying to open "view>grid and axis... etc." every time. Developers should make it possible to chose and save at least one grid type always available till the user change it.

Sempervivum reacted to Dimitrios in Grid preset: setting needed to set a grid preset as default
Totally agree, it is from the first moment that I installed v.2 that I'm trying to get some attention about it in two different threads, here and also here - but months passing by and there is no improvement...

Sempervivum got a reaction from Dimitrios in Grid preset: setting needed to set a grid preset as default
"This is more of a feature request/improvement than a bug, so i've moved this thread over to feedback." Too bad, I suspect that feature requests or the feedback section will be given a lower priority. As mentioned in the thread I referenced above this may be subject of discussion: A feature (switching on the grid by shortcut) that worked in V1 trouble-free doesn't work in V2 anymore. This is a bug.

Sempervivum got a reaction from Dimitrios in Grid preset: setting needed to set a grid preset as default
Just installed V2.1.0 and still this issue is not fixed. 😟😟😟 It's even more confusing: When I switch in the settings to my custom grid of 128px it's working fine - well known so far. When I save as afphoto and load again, it's still working. However when I open a new photo switching on the grid doesn't work again. Obviously this setting is saved in the context of the photo, not in general. This is annoying and unacceptable: The setting has to be set any time a new photo is opened.
A lot of users are affected by this issue:

Sempervivum reacted to Andy Mo in Grid no longer working in Affinity Photo V2
I support this issue. I use Photo to edit existing photos (so not creating a New Doc with a template).
In Photo 1, when I pressed the Grid shortcut (even while in the middle of another transformation, which was great) it displayed the grid using the last used grid settings.
In Photo 2, it never remembers the last used grid settings. So each photo I have to stop what I am doing, go into View >Grid etc and load up my pre-set.
It's slow and annoying, and makes me want to go back to Photo 1 every time it happens.
