It is because this are in fact not brushes, but brush presets. If you use a brush and change it's settings, the highlighting of the brush preset will disappear. It is logical behavior, because it is no longer the preset you chose. But I agree, it's annoying and that should be fixed in the future. Maybe at least in form of a tool history. This topic has been discussed here on the forum many times in the past.

These are brushes and not presets

Affinity Designer on iPad already shows which brush was used per vector layer, but it requires one more click:

    • select the layer in layer stack
    •  Click again on the move tool on the left side in tools panel

I don’t know if this is by design or a bug. It seems the last used brush stays active even if you select another layer where a different brush was used, but only the tool re-selection finally reveals the layers brush.

As you can see this doesn’t work .

  3. When you apply a brushstroke to an object it’s impossible to find the corresponding brush in the brush panel . This is soo annoying when you can’t remember which brush you used , this happens when you have hundreds of brushes . This should be so that when you select an object and you go to brush panel the applied brush would be highlighted in the corresponding category. Also when exporting a document the used brushes have to go with the document

Why not? Instead of duplicating 1 object 25x, you can duplicate 5 objects 5x or 12 objects twice and add 1. It's doable, I did that many times in the past in variety of software that didn't have S&R function.

You don’t understand it . Try to do this the way you describe it . This is available on the desktop version , just hold cmd or ctrl+ jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj and your object will be duplicated rotated and scaled every time the same amount

  5. Is it possible to implement a power duplicate button on the iPad . In the second video you can see that there is a power duplicate button for the 3d fx on top of the screen . So this must be possible for a quick object duplicate . Would be a really timesaver

  6. In designer v2 on the iPad please bring back the old controls for brush width , opacity, flow hardness, amount of points for fx and so on . These new sliders taking up more space and are not very useful. They are limited in pixel or amount of points . I know you can tap in a number , but this is just trial and error . It slows down the workflow. I’ve been working on the iPad version since the very beginning every single day so know what I’m talking about. These sliders simply don’t work for me , soo frustrated, this is a real setback .Or give us the option to chose between the old and new sliders . Otherwise no complaints about this new huge upgrade . Great work by the developers.

When I go to the Color Picker Tool, there is no lower triangle indicator showing that there is a sub menu/flyout with the Style Picker Tool as I see on the desktop version.

With the Knife tool, I can't get the Scissor functionality where you hover over an edge, see the Scissor icon and then can click to make a split.

Anybody else having the same issues? Or am I missing something in how to get them to work or function right?

In order to use the scissors just tap on the line with the knife tool

This is just incredible!...not my personal taste for artwork! but this is just stunning and one of the best I have seen so far! Well done!:)

It wasn’t ment to be an artwork i just wanted it to look realistic , it’s only shapes and strokes without the use of Gaussian blur , only inner outer shadow and outer glow
