Rik got a reaction from selenita in How to draw a spiral
Thanks for the answer.
I had forgotten about the Cmd+J
And... what a clever idea about combining Ronny’s method and Power Duplicate.

Rik got a reaction from VectorWhiz in [APh] Feathering Tool
Well, I think we need that tool, and more.
We need, what I would call 'Graduated Feathering'.
This will allow the creation of excellent shadows.
There are many times, a shadow is reasonably sharp near the object, and gets more fuzzy further away from the object.
I've attempted to show this graduated feathering in the attached image.

Is there a tool that allow a shape or text to be skewed?
As shown in the attached image.

I am lead to believe that at some stage a Feathering Tool existed in Affinity Designer.
Is there any chance the Feathering Tool could be re-instated?
I do see that we have the 'Gaussian Blur' tool, but, that's not the same thing.

Why am I reminded of the Monty Python brontosaurus sketch? :P

Rik reacted to R C-R in AD for Mac Vs Windows
The Windows beta creates files in the new Affinity 1.5 format, which is not compatible with the Mac 1.4.x versions. However, the Mac beta, available for download from the link in this topic, also creates files in the new file format & will open a file created with the Windows beta.
Be sure to read the info in the topic about the beta. Neither the Mac nor Windows betas are intended for production use, so anything your friend sends you created in the Windows beta should be considered experimental/for testing purposes only.

Rik got a reaction from Alfred in Retro TV Icon
I did the second icon as well.
I don't think I will be doing the third one!

Rik got a reaction from Alfred in Retro TV Icon
This was done by following a tutorial.
I'm not sure why that tutorial is not being advertised on this forum?
(Apologies if the link to that tutorial is somewhere and I've just not seen it!)
The image shown is three times bigger than the original.
It's a good tutorial if you're not used to using the AD tools, like me!

Nice!
You will love the frankentoon tutorials, as they are in the same league: Zero-to-hero in no time at all.

Rik got a reaction from Alfred in Working, off the page
As you say, Alfred. My question was answered and I've never minded seeing quality work.
I've learnt a lot from Gary, so I'd say that he has dibs on going off-topic!

Rik got a reaction from peter in How do I make a three letter monogram in a circle?
I agree with Peter, that the original 'HER' might be a bit on the thin side.
But, as to whether the lettering should join up with the white border, will very much be a matter of opinion.
For me, the lettering should still be separate from the white border.
But, it's what the customer prefers.
