There is a CAD addon for illustrator. It would be nice to be able to draw in scale in affinity. One could draw and transform afterwards but.. it is a very needed option that would be very favorable for Affinity Designer and would lure many customers, since it's easy to pattern and make very beautifull 2D presentations

I've been using lots of design software for years (2D & 3D), and let me just say Designer is the best I've ever used. It's intuitive, smooth and rich.
The core of my work is architectural & engineering design (so I use a lot of CAD software) and it occurs to me that, if Designer had an option to set scale it would also serve as a nice, simple CAD program. i.e. you could start an A3 sheet, set the scale to 1:100 and then when you draw a 1000mm line it produced a line 10mm long on the document.
It's just a thought, I realise CAD is not the target market, and the programmers have got better things to do with their time.

You have to convert Groups into a Layer !
To do so you have to select "the group" in the "Layer" list
Then go to the "Layer" menu and select "Convert the group into a layer""

You have to ask a moderator for a private upload link and to look after your problem. Your PDF export settings are nothing unusual, so I am clueless at this point.

Out of interest in this discussion and your experience: what do you think of APh's rendering of a Live Perspective Filter applied to a text layer? Note: the text is still editable (see APh file below).
I post this because I have high hopes in Serif's capabilities to come up with a finally good solution to mesh, warp and perspective distortions. And also with type. To me the example above already looks pretty good. Another indication to this is the recent improvement (in beta) to 'Expand Stroke'. They seem to know about math
(Disclaimer: I found this method of using a live perspective on type in this forum. I just can't remember where and when).

But when you use AP, it rasterizes the layer. What we are asking for is for the layer to stay vector when warped, etc.
