This function is super important for painters!

... Is there any way to variable width of the stroke? I'm missing this feature a lot ..

I know a few of you will answer like .. there is one tool under stroke settings.   ....
 
.but doesn't give enough control to precisely change width of stroke wherever we need. ... and this much small box can't cover the whole length of the curve.

I really like the "auto grid" feature of Designer, where the grid "subdivides" based on zoom level.
However, it's kind of annoying that the feature jumps between using 5 and 10 subdivisions…

What I would like:
For my own workflow, I'd like to always use subdivisions of 4 or 8. That would keep the main divisions from jumping around between zoom levels.
But I think the ideal would be some way to customize this behavior as a user – both the subdivisions and how the primary grid squares subdivide when zooming.
As it is now, I have to disable the auto grid and do the same runaround as on Illustrator: Zoom in, go to the Grids and Axis Manager, manually change the spacing (working with powers of 2 for convenience), then do whatever I zoomed in to do, zoom out, go to the Manager, change the spacing…
 
So… please give some love to the auto grid? 😃 I really like the idea of a grid that works based on the current zoom level, but I currently struggle to make it work for me.

The functionality to switch between artistic and frame text would be a great addition to Designer... Illustrator's implementation of doing this (double click a specific node on a text object, or right click > convert to...) is a perfect example on how it should be handled.

It would be SUPA-DUPA COOL to have this in our belowed Affinity Designer.

It's the same code base. Whether it appears in AD and APh is determined solely by its meaningfulness. Whether this makes a lot of sense in an image processing program, I have my doubts. It also doesn't make sense to implement all functions in all programs of the software suite. This would deprive the other applications involved of their right to exist.

This is not possible currently. It should be added in a future version later (after official release).

I will like to add this suggestion to the team of affinity developers. Can you guys give users access to an api or sdk so we can create plugins just for affinity. If this is made available to users, affinity will get more market ground at pull more creators, companies, freelance developers and school to the affinity products.
I teach in a American University of Nigeria, and am pulling my students from adobe to affinity.
Many have been asking for plugins and Ux related stuffs. I have ideas of plugins that will help UX designers to move to AD.
Please answer this request.

There seems to be a missing command for:
"Combine" (corelDraw ctrl-L)
    OR....
"Compound Path" (Illustrator cmd-8)
 
Same function, different names  (Given your preference in OLD vector programs)
 
Basically, the need to select multiple objects, whether touching or overlapping, to creating boolean shapes with one action. See attached screenshot, you should be able select all of these and click "Combine" or "Create Compound Path" and create 3 donuts (holes in the circles) from this selection. Right now the Geometry menu doesn't seem to have a function that performs this way.
 
Let me know if I didn't explain this very well, though anyone who's worked with vectors should know what I'm talking about, haha.

Any plans for keyboard shortcut support?  I often have a keyboard next to my iPad and having shortcut support would be great!
