  1. Found my solution - silly me. I was cloning onto an area that was previously selected and darkness with the Brightness/Contrast adjustment. I didn't realize that the brightness adjustment would be in effect when cloning over that area. Problem solved.
  2. As I stated, blend mode is set to Normal. As to the reply by owenr, Aligned option is turned off. Besides, the preview turns dark as soon as I move over the bright area before I even click to brush. I found one other post about this problem titled Cloning Brush Going Dark but there were no solutions posted. I have to assume now this is a bug with my installation.
  3. I'm trying to use the clone brush to repair areas that are completely washed out by bright sunlight. In the first images you can see I have selected from the pink area and successfully cloned onto the red area above. But in the second image (CloneBrushDarken) the brush turns very dark when I move over an area that was washed out. I have tried all combination of opacity, flow and hardness. Blend mode is Normal. What am I doing wrong?
