  1. I can remember using floppies that were actually floppy! Tokai - impressive for realism!
  2. Oh, sorry, thought it was a home DIY job. Thanks!
  3. What material did you use? And what cutter?
  4. Just noticed that offset / contour is not on the roadmap. I'm thinking it was there before? Hope we don't have to be content with the Expand Stroke workaround. :-(
  5. Are you in list view? It shows the AD icon until it loads a pic of the actual project. In icon view you can actually see this, in list view, it's too small for my eyes to tell what it is.
  6. Thanks again for the updates! I'm still trying to figure a lot of this out (amateur coming from CorelDraw instead of Illustrator) Appreciate all the help built in the app, as well as the forum!! Still looking for the offset tool. :-) Thanks again for a great update!
  7. thanks so much!!! Still waiting (like a kid before Christmas ;) ) for the contour / offset, and text warping (while retaining it as text) Thanks for the continuing updates. As much as I miss a few things from CorelDRAW, I seldom boot up the Windows side of my Mac anymore. AD is getting closer all of the time! Thanks!!!!
  8. Great, it's a feature I really miss. Thankful for the "workaround" but..... :-)
  9. This feature is not on the Roadmap. Earlier, I was thinking it had been stated that it would be easy to implement. Is it still on the list?
  10. It would be really nice if there was a way to do this - possibly desect the photo layer before resizing the triangle?
  11. That is probably what I need to try - In removing an object, I would get most of it removed, and then trying to remove the final pieces, it would pull back some of the original that had been deleted - so it's still sampling from below what had been inpainted over. I worked on another photo this morning and was more successful at removing some items, but still had it pulling up some from what had been removed. The cloning first definitely helps in some complicated situations. (And it would have been a lot easier in some of these situations to simply remove the items that didn't fit in the photo.)
  12. Ok, here's another question I have, and not sure if there is an exact answer. When you draw horizontal for in painting, does it sample from above and below? And if vertical then on both sides? Sometimes I will want the sampling to be on one side, but not the other, is that possible? I seem to be getting random results, and I can usually (eventually) get what I'm after, but is there something more precise to this? MikeFromMesa - I did try the cloning before in painting and that did often give more pleasing results. Thanks
  13. Is there more to this than just "trial and error?" For example, if I have an electric line I'm trying to remove, just painting over the line works well. Is the goal to paint over JUST what is to be removed, and not get any of what we would like to be the sample for the replacement? What was strange was when I was first working with it, I would be able to remove most of the blue, but then when I came back the second time, it added more blue in so that I was about back where I had started from. But not being able to reproduce the problem makes it hard to solve! :-)
  14. Ok, I tried again and it worked fine. I will save the next one that gives me issues. Sometimes it works INCREDIBLY and the next time I have issues, and I figured I am missing part of the equation. Wish I could redo the whole background, :) but the photo was just a quick iPhone shot. Are the cutoff images a bug? I've just noticed it on some pics recently. BTW we're NE of Wichita, on a farm.
  15. Ok, I am baffled as to how exactly the in painting works. I am trying to remove the blue in the bottom right corner of this photo (which is distracting, but I think the crop is better this way) If I highlight all of the blue tarp, it still leaves some in the corner. If I then re-highlight the remaining blue, then it grows. What is the principle behind how this works? Thanks in advance.
  16. Ok, I am not sure what I am doing wrong, as with the cursor between the R and Y, any inputs in the character panel effects the entire word. However, when I put the cursor between the R and Y and use the keyboard opt+arrow, it does what I'm wanting. MUCH easier, plus it lets me retain the text!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Is there any way to space characters differently within a word? I am used to being able to do this in CorelDRAW and it's something I REALLY miss, and am wondering how others work around this. The issue is not just the spacing between the letters, but (obviously) some character combinations need more spacing than others. See the attached. Is there another way to deal with the R / Y spacing looking too far apart in relation to the other spacing, without converting to curves and manually moving the Y over? Untitled.afdesign
  18. Looking forward to it, though obviously I could still use the context menu. :-)
  19. This is the same regardless of the font I start with or try to change to. The context menu bar works, the text panel does not. Again, I'm still on Mavericks, and on an iMac Untitled.mov
  20. Sorry - I only know how to take a screenshot. Is there a simple way to record the mouse movements? (never tried that one)
