  1. There are some of Astute Graphics plugin capabilities that I really need. Vector First Aid, Reform, and Find-Replace capabilities, as well as HotDoor CAD (or any scaling/dimensioning) are of great significance for my functionality. Due to current finances, I just cut myself off of Adobe CC and risking my professional workflow entirely with Affinity Designer. I really like what you guys are doing and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to move everything over to Affinity, but I need some of the tedious workhorse-like tools. Designer is excellent for art and design, but super technical pieces need more tools to accomplish efficiently in Designer. Would you be able to open up an SDK for third-parties (or yourselves) to fill in the gaps? I'd be willing to pay more if you could do this.
  2. This has nothing to do with a visible frame. It's all about controlling the area an image covers despite the actual aspect ratio or size of the image itself. Basically, the frame is a clipping mask, as in Illustrator or graphic frame as in InDesign; heck, even Quark XPress had this. We need the frame because very rarely is an image ever the size or aspect ratio necessary for the document where it is placed, and we definitely do NOT want to have to crop, size, and save a separate image file for every variation of an image's use in the document. Graphic frames are necessary, and the ability to easily manipulate the image in the frame and the frame itself separately or together.
  3. I need the ability to establish a text-frame style with all of the parameters of inset, vertical position, decoration, .... Right now, every time I need to create a new frame but need it to be consistent within the document, I have to manually change all settings each time or have to navigate>copy>navigate>paste or keep dragging an asset on. The asset method is the best workaround, but I don't want to maintain hundreds of assets when I simply want a common style.
  4. I really need the ability to both name pages, sections, spreads and have the name show up in the Pages Panel. Right now, although I can name a section, the section name does not show in the Pages Panel, which doesn't help me organize for find necessary sections. I also need the ability to append/stack multiple pages per spread for three scenarios: 1) gatefolds; 2) brochures; 3) a way to organize section pages in a single spread to more easily manipulate objects within a section. I use this third scenario a lot when I am working with forms that have to stay together but want all forms to be designed in a single document for easier updates and publishing. In addition to more than two pages in a spread, I need the ability to have unique page sizes within that, especially for gatefolds/brochures, covers with spines, etc, where I need to account for page creep.
  5. When I try to export to PDF the options to choose which pages to export is too rudimentary to be useful. I should be able to select any combination of pages. As it stands, I can only select current or all. That does me no good when I need only pages 2,5-8, and 10 (for example). Please allow granular control of export of pages along with your macro set of options.
  6. When I tried to incrementally increase the inset of a text frame by clicking in the inset spinner field value and hitting the up-arrow key, the first keystroke does what it's supposed to do (increase the spinner value), but then the focus immediately changes to the text cursor in the text frame itself leaving me without the ability to subsequently up-arrow the next incremental value of inset. This forces me to move the mouse to click again into the inset field spinner to up-arrow the second time. Obviously, this is a bug as no spinner field allowing arrow-key increment would change focus on the first keystroke. The focus needs to stick to the input field until the user explicitly TAB-out or mouse-out.
  7. Wow, I was not seeing this anywhere when I was looking. I opened all panels, etc. The only alignment that I could find forced the whole text frame to the page's top/middle/bottom, and the wrap did not stand out either. I guess having all panels open was too much clutter for me to weed through. And often when I cannot find a feature I right-click for the context menu, and non-of these appeared; no vertical alignment, no wrap option, no text frame properties for inset... And insets/frame properties were not under the Text main menu item, where one would think such controls would be available. I feel stupid for missing these, but I think it points out that ensuring you context menu and main truly offers all applicable functions. They shouldn't be buried only within a panel tucked under Studio.
  8. I started a new document. Created a table. Opened Table Formats. Double clicked the default item in the list. Made a change. Hit OK. The first time I did this just now, it worked fine. Then the second and third times I tried I got doubles. I would hit OK, the dialogue would flash and reappear slightly down-right of last position, create a new format, then hitting OK the second time to close the repeated dialogue, a second format appeared in the list. I doubt the file itself would tell you much. It just seems the OK dialogue doesn't fully accept the initial OK click. Illustrator does the same double dialogue issue with creating swatches, but doesn't create a double item. Untitled.afpub
  9. Really need the ability to vertically align the content of a text frame to TOP/MIDDLE/BOTTOM/JUSTIFY relative to the frame. Really need the ability to inset text from the frame, not just paragraph insets but an entire internal buffer/padding. Really need the exact opposite of inset, and that's text wrap, a buffer on the outside of the frame to push other text away (this is also true for graphic frames).
  10. Should be able to have both absolute (units) and relative (%) values when manipulating any object/frame/content. I currently cannot get a mis-sized object to return to correct proportions because I don't know the actual units needed to maintain its general size but get back to having no distortion. I should be able to type %H %W to the same value and know I now have its aspect ratio correct. Fitting: Fit Contents in Frame Proportionately (means entire contents are visible with existing frame size - no cropping occurs) Fill Frame with Contents Proportionately (means the existing frame size will be filled and the contents effectively cropped) Fit Frame to Contents (means the frame changes size to match dimensions of contents - no cropping occurs) Once fitted, it should be a starting point. When I adjust the frame-content set the crop established by the fitting should not change.
  11. Table Formats tab: when I try to modify a table format and either click or hit enter/return, it forces me to click or enter/return twice before the dialogue will close out, but then it generates two instances in the Table Formats list. The screen clipping was the result of only three attempts of modifying and saving a table format. As you can see it generated two per attempt.
