For Windows also...I'll give a nod toward "Advanced Renamer" - comes in a portable version (so doesn't need to be installed) Using the replace function is quite easy (online tutorials / examples) and there is an undo feature if you screw it up. One thing I like about it - you can save the renaming function to use again.

'Replace missing fonts' not working
Gradient_Phil replied to icreate's topic in [ARCHIVE] Publisher beta on macOS threads
Am also having a similar problem where the Font Manager will NOT let me change to font to one of my choosing - sometimes when it has the font it says I don't. The FM will let you select a different font, but reverts back after several seconds. Very strange. -
Font swap issue
Gradient_Phil replied to Chrisw5's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
I'm having exactly the same issue. APub will not let me change to another font (changes for two seconds then reverts). Also, it will not change even when I have the correct font it says I am missing (this is because the PDF perhaps gives the font a different name than how it is designated on my system??) Also...APub doesn't always register when the font library is update - I have to restart the program. Further - sometimes APub lists the same missing font twice - like it has been given two different names within the PDF or something. The above is with a PDF document that is opened (not placed) in APub. -
+1 for this. I also downloaded a lot of the videos for APhoto and AD - especially for subjects that needed a lot of attention (yeah...I'm old!). And while there might be a lot of video downloaders, the file format used is weird (.m4s) or something. As "WolframH" said - not everyone has perfect connectivity or lives in a city.

Hey Jens Krebs This is essentially how I achieved it. I created a new document with only single pages and cut and pasted each page from the original document to the new one. It was time consuming and tedious though...and I was hoping there was a better way. Having a page split option would be good - something that cuts the page where you specify...or split it at centre. The only weird thing about the outputted PDF was that the text in the resultant file looked like is was "bold" when opened in Acrobat Reader DC. I'm thinking perhaps the text was rasterised - even though I had rasterise nothing selected. It would appear the original PDF has been modded somehow. I'm not an expert on these things, so am not sure what has been done. Usually if I open a PDF in Acrobat Pro (8.1) I can tweak the text - but it this case I couldn't - like the file has be optimised or something. Even stranger, is that when the outputted file is opened in Acrobat Pro (8.1) - the text looks like it should do. And...the text also looks fine in APub. Is there anyway to tell if the text has been rasterised? Anyway to force it not to rasterise anything? Thanks for the help.

Greetings, Been using Aff Pub to work on a pdf file. Every time I switch between two open file (Cutting and pasting) the scroll bar on the page thumbnail panel jumps back so I have to grab it and drag it down to the end of the document everytime. Why doesn't it stay on the page you are working on?? Is this normal behavior?? It is really frustrating.

Greetings, I have a pdf file that has each page formatted as a two page spread (except for the cover and end page which are single pages). Converting this pdf via acrobat pro 8.1 is really tedious and time consuming. I have opened the pdf in A_Publisher to convert each two page spread into a single page spread - but can't figure out if this can be done? A_publisher also sees the two page spread as one page, but that two page spread needs to be split (or cropped). Can't seem to find a "split page" option. In the document setup panel, the "facing" checkbox is already unchecked when the file loads. In the "Spread Setup" panel, resetting the dimensions of the spread to a single page centers the new page down the middle - so you get half of each page instead of either the left-hand side or the right-hand side. One thing A-Publisher does do is see each page as a single entity - so if I click on either the LH page or RH page I get a blue bounding box around each individual page. However, the only way I've managed to make this work is by creating a "new" single page document and cutting and pasting each individual page from the original file into the new document. This is also very tedious and time consuming. Is there better way?? I have zero experience with publisher.

Hey Walt, Really appreciate you taking the time to post. Thankfully I waited until the 1.7.1.404 came out and I can happily say I upgraded without issue. Everything seems to be working as expected and now I have all the new features to unravel. I did make a complete copy of the folders you mentioned. In that folder you mentioned there is one called "1.0 (beta)". I am assuming this is the settings folder for the beta and that I can simply delete it as I'm no longer using the beta. Again...very much appreciated. Regards

Greetings, Been somewhat concerned with the number of threads pertaining to upgrade issues - especially the previous settings, assets etc being lost. I have yet to upgrade because of all the dramas dotted through the forum. Is there a "best type" practice to make sure everything is there on the upgrade? Certainly DO NOT want to have to re-install everything!! I know that perhaps you can copy (or backup) the appdata folder from C:\users, but are the 1.6 files there compatible with 1.7?? Is this just a cut and past option? There is also the export function form each individual panel. Thing is...I'm no expert so I am NOT certain what panel exports are required for both Photo and Designer. Does anyone have the full list for both? I know there are brushes, macros, keyboard shortcuts to name a few, but can someone please point me to a full list for both. I sure hope in future Serif is going to make this a much easier option (like create an export / import macro or something) that makes this a single file event. Thanks for the assistance...
