  1. Thank you very much for sharing! This looks very promising. Will definitely try it and purchase if it meets my expectations. About what ‘main stream’ software should and should not do is a very large subject... and I write more later. I just think that generalising the needs sounds like an excuse.
  2. Vectorising raster effects? a lot of work..... Give the Astute plugin a go, they have a fully working 14 trial for illustrator. The plugin is great, but not perfect: Its biggest flaw is the speed – but this is not Astute's fault – I'd blame Illustrator... it's a memory hog and in my opinion the program is not effective when it comes to performance. I *thought* vectors were not only resolution independent, but also small i file size and quick to render. I *thought* that, because this is how things were back in the Corel Draw days. I have not used Corel for ages (and would never ever ever ever go back), but I remember it was possible. I have since worked on Deneba Canvas (now ACDSEE Canvas. Great program - easy to learn, for the record) and then Illustrator. (rather steep learning curve). I have big hopes for AD as I have lost faith in Adobe. I use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign on a daily basis, but the programs have stopped evolving. There are still things missing, there is still room for improvement, there are things I have been waiting for for years – but updates only seem to expand their RAW support. Yawn. Subscription model doesn't make it better.
  3. Personal preferences is one thing. Industry standard is another. One should think (hope) that standards are based on general good practice, common sense and practical logic. I expect from professional apps to have FULL control over what I’m doing. I guess it”s fine if a tool is trying to help people draw even lines if their hands are too shaky – but this is function should be optional. It’s like autocorrect while typing. You can turn it off in settings. However helpful it might be - people would be pretty pissed if they couldn’t turn it off. it's the case of computer trying to think too much for the user.
  4. I understand. Of course... it makes sense, MEB. Thanks for your reply.
  5. I’ve said this in a different thread, but I’ll mention it here again: ....how about creating polls for people to vote for different features?
  6. Thanks for confirming this. I hope my request will be considered. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one anyway. How about making some polls to help/convince the developers?
  7. Not sure if it would make sense to incorporate this into the vectorisation tool, but somehow I find it related: VECTOR HALFTONE... would be a killer feature that even Adobe doesn't offer. It is possible to achieve this effect in illustrator with 3rd party plugins from Astute Graphics – heres a link: https://astutegraphics.com/software/phantasm/ This could be a dealbreaker feature for many... (iPad version too, please)
  8. Agree, this is a 'must' feature if you want to compete with what Adobe has to offer. Even in Illustrator vectorisation is not perfect, so as long as the dev can get it similar or close - it would be enough (for now) ;). Besides, as an idea – or request – if the tracing engine could output a vector halftone pattern... that would be a killer feature that even Adobe doesn't offer. Dealbreaker. It is possible to achieve this effect in illustrator with 3rd party plugins from Astute Graphics – heres a link: https://astutegraphics.com/software/phantasm/ I might have to double post this link and info in the requests category, so apologies in advance
  9. Hello Forum :) Is there a way of switching OFF the smoothing on the Vector brush tool? It makes freehand drawing a little too automatic for me. I want all the imperfections of my line drawing. ;) I have the same request for the iPad version... I could not find anything in the settings either.
