  1. So will you be extending the 40% discount deadline until after the msi is released? [edit] stated NOT in another thread. I don't like that attitude AT ALL.
  2. Unfortunately, breaking up the macro doesn't work for me. I simply don't understand why, if it can record macro steps, that sequence can't be saved in an editable form. Lamentable omission from V1 let alone V2.
  3. Thank you for the suggestion and I'll give it a try.
  4. Can we please have an update on the availability of the msi installer version
  5. Why after all these years is it still not possible to edit macros? I can export and import macros, but not change them. So if I want to make the simplest of small changes to a long macro, it seems I still have to recreate the whole thing. This is more than pathetic IMO
  6. On my system Photo2 can be found at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0.1640_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt\App\Photo.exe and I can link to it from XnView. As has been mentioned elsewhere the path will change with new versions, but the release of an msi version should solve this ridiculous mess Serif have caused. I don't use the other apps but assume the paths will be similar.
  7. Agreed. I have no problem with the charge for V2, but it doesn't offer enough (anything?) for me to upgrade as a non-professional user. An upgrade path would allow me to choose when/if to upgrade rather than being bulldozed by the 14 December offer date end.
  8. If I buy V2 before the offer expires, will Serif GUARANTEE that I will be provided with an msi installer?
  9. So is it best to buy from the Windows Store or Serif directly? Will Serif offer the msi file to store purchasers? [edit] from the store: ** SPECIAL OFFER! Get 40% off Affinity Photo 2 and the Affinity V2 Universal Licence until December 14th **
  10. As a V1 user, I have no problem with the current price offerings, but I do not want to upgrade at the moment: to me V2 feels at best like V1.xx and beta at that; and I want an msi or exe install file. So when the current discount ends, IMO Serif should give V1 users an upgrade path on the same terms. All this tosh about msix not allowing discounts is easily circumvented by selling msi or exe upgrades off their website.
  11. As a non-professional photo editor, I see nothing to make me want to upgrade apart from maybe live mesh. The new interface is different, some things I like and others not, but no great overall improvement IMO. V1 was so exiting when it was released (i bought while at an airport as I couldn't wait to try it), but all in all V2 it gets a 'meh' from me. And the msix installer file format is very annoying - bring back the exe; I would hold off purchase until this changed anyway. 😒😒😒
  12. Also try updating your video drivers from the manufacturer (including Intel if appropriate). I was very dubious (and rather scathing in my comments here TBH) when this was happening to me as my pc is always kept updated, but after doing both I have had no problems.
  13. I am a "home" photo editor, my photos are jpg, and once I have edited a photo I don't return to it.
  14. A valid point, but then I never use the native format/s. It's not an issue for me as I have remapped the shortcut keys.
  15. I always think that the export features should be included with "save as" .
  16. Any guidance on when to use Lanczos3 separable or non-separable? Googling didn't come up with anything much.
  17. Sorry I should have said, if I open Photo and the Inpainting Brush icon is already visible on the side toolbar, after I load a photo and hit "J" it cycles/switches to the Healing Brush before I can use the Inpainting Brush. It should only switch if I use the shift key, as that is what I have set in my preferences. Hopefully, this is at least clearer.
