kpro reacted to blackstone in Perspektive im Designer
Eine Lösung hat jemand bei Facebook gefunden.

That also describes my reaction from 6 YEARS AGO - but found out it was on the roadmap for version 1 which put me at ease a little - I'm not at ease any more!?!?!?

kpro reacted to blackstone in Perspektive im Designer
Hallo,

make sure pressure curve is reset before adjusting dash and gap. Use small settings. See screen video.

kpro reacted to walt.farrell in Problem with the 'Linked' image placement policy
One of the 1.8 beta improvements is to allow true linking for document files. Until then, linked document files are a combination of embedded and linked. Publisher will know if they are modified externally, and can alert you (or update them automatically, if you've chosen), but it also embeds a copy.

kpro reacted to mad99 in Relative path for resources (Feature Request)
Hi support & forum,
I use the cloud for collaborate work.
The problem with linked resource: On other machine, the path will not match and we have to relink each resource.
So currently I can't find a solution to use linked file in collaborate work, because the link is absolut!
Would be great to could set «path relative from current file».
Currently I can only link resources «absolute»:
The path is clickable but not changeable:
Would be great to change link-path to relative:
Maybe if this could change (path editable) of our own: with (os x) 2 dots and slash, for «from current file -> one directory down and then ...» -> go to (E.g.) directory «Media» and use the file «Image.png» within.
Advantages:
This would make it possible
to use the linked resource also on other machines. to simplify the use of new directory-structure. to move old projects to other destinations (external drive/cloud/...). ...
Maybe there is such a solution, but I can't find it.
If anybody has a hint or work-around, I would love it ;o))
Otherwise Feature-Request: I'm sure, to use a relative path would help a lot of «professionals» to work more with an ease.
Regards
Martin

kpro reacted to Gigatronix Pete in Re linking images using Googledrive
Is there any kind of pack & go scenario with Affinity? ...as this would perhaps solve the problem!
Also is there any way to re link multiple files as we currently have to do them all individually!?

Yes, please! Every other DTP software I know works with relative paths, cannot live without this!

I was also looking for this option. I use multiple pc's so relative linking would be benificial. Managing files would become more flexible.

+1
Since we work usually together in teams, and we use for example Dropbox to share workfiles, it would be really great, to be able to open on multiple computers, on multiple OS, and be able to modify, update or publish.
With absolute link, we can not do so.
Thanks in advance!

kpro reacted to Wosven in How do I collect my linked images in Affinity Publisher?
Since APub seems to ask when images are embedded... perhaps you need to embed them again and export them to a folder
Unless someone came with a straithforward way to do this!

I swear it did it.
You can see the folder.

kpro reacted to Wosven in How do I collect my linked images in Affinity Publisher?
Hi,
It happened for me with PDFs I imported in APub, but I'm not sure what triggers this action (asking to export images in a folder), it's not specifically opening the resources manager...

kpro reacted to walt.farrell in How do I collect my linked images in Affinity Publisher?
I've never seen a function in Publisher that would collect them. They simply become linked to their original locations, in my experience.

kpro reacted to thomasbricker in How do I collect my linked images in Affinity Publisher?
A while back, while working on a document, AP asked me if I wanted to make all my images "linked" and collect them into one folder.
I said yes, and it did it automatically.
Now I am trying to find that function/command and Im not seeing it.
My document has new linked images from all over my hard drive and I want them to be all consolidated to one folder.
I have already checked out the Document Resources panel. Doesn't seem to offer that function.
I could swear the AP did this for me on its own. ( I have the folder to prove it.) But I can not seem to replicated this behavior.
Was I dreaming? Or does this function exist?
Please advise.
Thanks.
