I forgot it was explicitly modified on 1.8.0.514 or 1.8.0.486 a couple few days ago. I tried open it in 1.7x, but seems forward compatibility is unavailable. attachment: redesign.afdesign

[update] The bad apple that makes 1.8.0.526 crash , while loading fonts at startup, is following two Chinese fonts. After removing these two fonts, everything get back on track. Note: Following two fonts work pretty well on previous version but failed on 1.8.0.526. 超研澤疊圓體.ttf 超研澤空疊圓.TTF

Hello @dominik I have added another file before the crash for easy reproduce the problem.

After applying constraints to the grouped object, it totally frozen and can never be opened again. The grouped object contains with only a curve object masked by another curve object. before the crash: crash test.1.6.399.afdesign after the crash crash test.1.6.99.bk.afdesign
