Hi all:
I'm new to Serif. I found Affinity Designer while researching alternatives to Adobe. I've taught Digital Imaging, Digital Image Manipulation, and Publication Design — currently Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign — at a small seminary/college for the past 15 years. Too bad the school computers are all Windows-based!
I also have a few small businesses: creating this Jewish day planner: https://design613.com/balabusta/index.html, doing freelance graphics, and doing space planning and kitchen design (2D and 3D CAD mostly in Sketchup Pro).
I've been playing with Designer for a few days (and it's crashed on me more than once  ), and hope Affinity will prove a worthy competitor to Adobe and their monopolistic business model.
