i have performed a e2fsck -c on the hdd and it did not report any bad blocks. so i guess there is something wrong with affinity photo. i was trying to reduce the size of some of my .afphoto files. Opened the file -> deleted any snapshots and not visible layers -> saved the file again and then in some files the above error was shown after trying to reopen the saved file hope that helps :-)

the same is happening for other files too.. sorry for the big size of the file, but thats another problem with affinity photo. a background layer,3 live filters and the size gets high to 290MB!! DSC_8053.afphoto

i am trying to open a .afphoto file, but fails with the following message: "access to the document's file was lost while performing initial loading. the document must now be closed ." what might be the problem? i just installed a new hdd on my nas. could it be that the file is corrupted? thanks giorgos

Hi, i noticed that .afphoto files are REALLY BIG in size, occupying many more MBs than the original raw file. it would be nice if there was an option to export a description of the file, eg to an xml file, just for archiving purposes. for example: <original file>DSC_00001</original_file> <layers> <brightness-contrast> ..... parameters of brightness/contrast layer </brightness-contrast> <fill> ...parameters of fill layer </fill> ................ </layers> maybe there could be some options: - option to save the image data as well - option to save develop parameters as well thanks, i am reporting some examples of .afphoto file sizes: - original .nef file: 18.6MB developed, then altered by nik collection (silver fx pro2) , and saved .afphoto size: 305MB - .nef file: 18.9 MB developed, nik_collection plug in (silver fx), added high pass live filter, added brighness contrast .afphoto: 411 MB - .nef file: 18.8 MB developed, added unsharp live filter, added 3 fill layers, added brightness contrast layer .afphoto: 153 MB

Hello everybody, i'm using affinity photo on windows 10 device. i just noticed affinity's files size (.afphoto). It's tooo big compared to the original raw file. ( i own a 24MP camera) examples: .nef file size | .afphoto file size 18.8 MB | 153 MB 16.9 MB | 210 MB 18.6 MB | 305 MB why is this happening? it is not very pleasant. it's eating our hard drives gigabytes... it would be useful it there was an option to export a description of the file that would consume only very little space, for example: <original file> DSC_0001.NED </original file> <layers> <brightness-contrast> ......................... </brightness-contrast> <fill> ..................... </fill> </layers> thank you, Giorgos

Hi everyone, i have taken several pictures of the same subject with different ev values( i am using a nikon camera). in high positive ev (eg +1.0)values the bright segments of the image are blown out, but shadows are displayed very well. in small negative ev (eg -1.0) values shadows are blown out, but bright segments are displayed very well. how can i merge these images, so as to create an image that selects the bright parts from the images with small ev and the shadow parts from the images with high ev? thank you all, g

Hi everybody, i am printing photos after processing them with affinity photo. ( i am using photo v.1.6.2 on win10). But the printed photos i get are different from the photos i see on my laptop screen. ( i own a canon ip7250) i have read about color profiles, but i am quite confused. before printing i convert the document to the printer color profile, but printing from affinity photo produces poor results and when printing from the printer software i still don't get the image i look on the screen. What should i do to get a printed photo that is similar to the one i look on the screen? what should be the color profile when i open a jpg file from my camera? (nikon d3300) what should be the color profile when developing a raw image file? thank you all, Giorgos

Hi, i open a raw image file in develop persona and make some changes. When i develop the image the histogram i get in the photo persona is different from the histogram i last saw in the develop persona. why is this happening?

Hi everybody, i am a new user of Affinity Photo, but already like the program a lot. On default windows 10 photo editing software there are some filters you can apply to images. Some i like the most are Sahara, Icarus and Burlesque. Could anyone figure out how to emulate these filters in Affinity Photo? thanks
