13 Illustrating I finished all the soviet cities series illustrations with my Surface laptop. I prefer a laptop to an iPad when creating. Because of the spring festival, job things and games, I did not illustrate a lot for the last two months.

10 The Fern Last year I tried to take some macrophotographs with my Laowa and Sigma Macro Lenses. Plants and insects are normal subjects for outdoor macrophotographs.

08 The Ferns There are a lot of ferns on the side of the road. Before dusk, the sunlight added a golden color to the ferns. 09 Taken with Sony I usually use my Sony camera or Sony cellphone to take pictures. My Sony camera has higher sensitivity than my cellphone, it can record in darker environments.

07 Acacia Baileyana Purpurea A small plant on my balcony. Its' seeds have to be soaked in boiled water before planting. Unfortunately, my rabbit ate this poor little plant last summer.

06 The Apartment Building The apartment complex I lived in the last 2 years. I took a picture in the dusk, the golden moment with the best light.

They are just floor tiles, designed into chess boards. I think it's just for decoration.

05 The Shadows The railing of the overpass is fence-like. Fence-like shadows highlight contrast between light and shadow.

That's a good suggestion. Even a short description might help viewers to understand my illustration. I will try that.

Happy new year! Since I finished Soviet Cities series, I started another series. Inspiration form some pictures I took in 2021. It's all 4k resolutions, 4096*2160, enough to be wallpapers. 01 The Road This road is where I used to going to work every day. Under the sunshine, it looks peaceful and clean. 02 The Yellow Bike A yellow bicycle parked on the side of the road. Chengdu seldom has sunny days, so it's a good time for taking pictures. The light is excellent. Light is essential in photographs and drawings. Shadow makes them vivid. There are a lot of leaves on the ground. 03 Gezhi Building This is the building where I used to work at. To better express the volume and perspective of the building, I used a wide-angle shot. A strong sense of perspective makes the illustrations more realistic. Also, it increases the workload.
