  1. I use guillemets » and « for my books as quotation marks. That was never a problem when typesetting my paperback books in Affinity in the past years. Now I opened a previous document (created with Affinity 1) in Affinity 2 – and it broke some of the flow. Most annoying of all, it pushes « (end quote) to the next line on its own. I tried to change the text flow in paragraph, hyphenation. Nothing helps. It doesn't help to replace the guillemets with the ones provided by Affinity 2 (Text: Insert: Quotation marks: left/right guillemet). So it looks like this: I can only go to character spacing and enlarge it by hand until the word in front of the quotation mark follows to the next line. I loathe to do this for a 380 pages novel!! Especially knowing that there are still 5 more to edit in Affinity 2. Before you comment about the placement of comma and guillemets: This is the German version. We use the guillemets the other way around from the French/Swiss, and we add a comma after the closing quotation mark, even if it has other punctuation inside the quotation mark. (Yes, weird, I know.) Is there an update on the horizon that fixes this?
  2. Since the last update (which I only installed 2 days ago), Affinity Publisher has been buggy for the first time for me. I had one crash, but the restored document looks fine and had all my last changes. But I had to change the design (from 5.5. x 8 inches to 5.25 to 8 inches) and even though I used "apply this change to all master pages", it did not change the layout. So I went in and changed it manually for each master page of the novel. But an hour later, while I'm deep in the manuscript, fixing overflown text etc., I noticed that some pages were still in the old size. So I went back to the master page, and entered the new format AGAIN. Pressed save. Same thing has happened 4 times now. I pressed "save" in between, I have not closed the document or done anything else. The other thing is that for one item, the text keeps disappearing. It's an ad page for the other books in the series. I have now copied in the text 3 times. But every time I add or remove a page SOMEWHERE ELSE in the document, the text of the ad disappears and only the image stays behind. It's the first time that working with Affinity Publisher has been frustrating.
  3. I downloaded Affinity Photo for Mac in late December. Everything was working fine. Then I must have hit some hidden short cuts because part of my panels went missing. I restored most of them by resetting the whole program; I am still missing the brush size, and when I work inside the LIQUIFY persona, I don't have the buttons on the upper left hand corner any more that read "confirm" and "cancel". So I can only click back to the other persona. I get an error message (see attached) "Please accept or abort the changes made in Liquify persona before changing to another persona" I can click "okay" or "apply". Okay brings me back to the Liquify persona; "apply" means the changes are applied. I cannot cancel changes made in Liquify anymore. :-( Any help? And is there any way to reset the whole program so all the tool bars look like "out of the box"? I used the reset on start-up, as described in this forum somewhere.
