  1. All is working now, updates successful. I re-booted my PC twice, don't know what changed/updated/corrected, but working OK now. I uninstalled Photo and reinstalled, but was able to directly update Publisher. Thanks Alfred
  2. current version is 1.10.3 Just uninstalled Photo and tried a new fresh installation. Nothing happened.
  3. I bought them directly from Affinity, have dealt with Serif for many years. Maybe I will uninstall each program & try loading fresh. Can't remember the exact wording but originally it had something to do with checking Net.34
  4. Tried to update to 1.10.4, Publisher and Photo, and the process was missing something in Windows 10, said OK, all went well during that process, but went to update to 1.10.4 and nothing happens. Not sure what to do next. Thanks to all that reply,
  5. Thanks Dan C, this helps a lot. So many choices, so confusing. I have an old Asus VE258Q, 1080p, TN, and I find the colors to be very defined and clear. Your suggestions make it easier to narrow down the choices. Thanks again,
  6. Greetings All, Relatively new to the graphics/designing stuff using Affinity software. I am a little lost as to how to choose/select a new monitor for Designer and Photo. What should I be looking for ... Panel Type, Resolution, Refresh rate, what else? I have a fairly good computer, i9 CPU with a RTX 3070 GPU. I may also do the occasional gaming. Thanks to All that reply, All the Best
  7. Thanks @ashf, that helps alot. Already started with a redesign of my booklet to make things easier for me to print & for the local printer. Again, thanks to All that replied to this subject. Everyone keep safe, keep healthy.
  8. @ashf, no it isn't the original file, but if this looks good then I would send in this format. The local printer is going to get me a quote tomorrow, then I will decide what to do. I am experimenting with an idea, but not in a rush now that Covid-19 has upset the whole world. I really want to get a good understanding of AFPUB. Thanks, You have all helped a lot.
  9. Thanks @MikeW & @ashf, the background image is not that important so I might just remove it. You both have given me things to think about. Everything prints fine for me on my inkjet printer.
  10. Here's a single two page spread of my project. What recommendations can you make? The quality looks OK to me, so I don't know why the local printer (this company is not a small time or quick shop printer) is finding poor quality in. Thanks, Single Spread for AFPUB Forum (pdf).pdf
  11. Thanks @walt.farrell, so, what is the best method to use if all the text is black? Is there something I need to identify, or change settings. when assigning black as a font color. Thanks @ashf, yes, it would be good to know why the local printer made those comments. Maybe I could do the adjustments within Affinity Pub before sending as a pdf. The local printer just replied saying he doesn't know what PDF/X-4 is. What is the difference? Why does AFPUB have so many pdf export options?
  12. Thanks All, I'm going to do some editing, wait to hear back from printer, then resend the printer the updated version, then see what he has to say. Is Affinity Publisher an acceptable software/program, for producing projects to be printed by local print shops?
