  1. WE know it is possible as they did it in pageplus, may be one for feature request if not already requested
  2. Would this not be something to do with ratio? The A ranges where designed to be scalable, but if you are changing from letter to A4 one aspect as to be increase and othr decrease. So the images are always going to be changed proprtionally?
  3. Checking the text that changes it is 12pt, often with resizing the pt size shows fractions. If you want to have a look further I posted before and after APub files in Designer Beta on windows where someone had the same expereince with imported pdfs and mods ahd asked for a sample. Attaching here also Before_Grouping.afpub After_Grouping.afpub
  4. Not sure whether you got a pdf with the problem, but attached are a before and after Apub files and the problem is still there in 1.9.0.920 (RC3) Before_Grouping.afpub After_Grouping.afpub
  5. Text changing sizes when grouping multiple layers still in this latest version 1.9.0.920 (RC3)
  6. I know that will always be the case and we still see or did for a long while bugs when 1.8 was released, but you would expect major bugs like the one that appear in a recent beta where text changes size to be fixed before becoming fully released
  7. Text changing sizes when grouping multiple layers still in this latest version
  8. Windows Publisher is not showing RC status and there are still bugs in the current beta version that are waiting to be fixed e.g. the changing of text sizes when grouping objects reported in two threads
  9. Need to consider that all the apps need to be released at the same time as you will not be able to use 1.9 Aphoto in 1.8 Apub studio link and AD, Publisher has not reached RC stage yet
  10. Hi Gary They specify maximum word count, which is common practice in tenders in the public and funding field. Prior to retirement I prepared tenders and sent reports to the NHS and mximum word count was often specified. It is to help them get to the essence of the bid or benefits of the work. If you are limited you are going to go for the most importan elements and not waffle on.
  11. Because I do a lot of the editing on things I produce I like to be aware of word count / character. Soemtimes this is specified by funders when we are reporting on the benefits gained from the funding. Serif must have deemed it worthy of inclusion in Page Plus becuase it had not only word / character count but a text editor modedule word plus. which I used instead of using ms word, as it is sometimes easy to draft what you want to say without worry about other controls.
  12. A selected image show as replace in the context toolbar, if your new images are in the same folder it will default to this after you have selected the first change. In publisher if they are in a picutre frame you do not need to worry about sizes altering anything else on the page.
  13. This is still in the new beta .902, hopefully there will be a fix before long as it is annoying
  14. In Page plus X9 the fonts show and in publisher they show but are all shown as regular. Maintype shows them as OpenType with some caveat that appears as an envelope, presumably because of the variable
  15. Thanks Patrick, good to know. Boris says we may be back in by Easter, but not holding my breath (only masking it)
  16. I did the same as I have all the apps on my personal computers, but wanted to put on the computers at the charity I do work for (free of Charge) as I am a Trustee, but do not control their PC's, so hence buying seperate licenses the last time the reduction was offerred. My only problem is the charity has been in lockdown since last years lockdown as it is based in a sheltered housing complex, all the team are working from home, so goodness knows when I will be able to install it on their PCs. I am presuming their is no time limit on activation?
  17. Thanks Alfred, tried searching prior to posting, but must not have used phrases that matched. Just noticed the posting above was prior to the my orignal posting which did not get any response from Serif. In my first posting the text increased, in my second it drecreased?
  18. Started a new design today and had the same experience when grouping picture frames, background and text objects, this time it removed the tracking adjustment from the text
  19. Bookmakers are also known as Turf Accountants, but not sure what sort of grass they count. When "Bookies" shops were illegal they had Bookie's Runners who would take the bets in pubs and clubs and "lay them on" with the bookie.
  20. I would have thought this would be a function to do in the spreadsheet rather than publisher because it is going to get the first value from the spreadsheet or list?
  21. Hi I have a apub document created from a template in previous beta where all the layers are locked as I just put new designs in the middle. Using the latest beta I needed to get more space in the middle so increased the paper size from A4 to A3 in spread. I then unlocked the layers so I could increase the gap between the header and footer. Selecting the footer layers (and same for header) if I try to group them one of the text boxes increses the text size, see snips, ungrouping does not take it back to previous size. This also happens in the beta without changing the spread size. I cannot open in the release version as it says some features created in later version. If you want the template please supply a dropbox link
  22. I may be wrong but these may be mandated by the standards for SRA paper sizes used in commercial printing and registration guides for digital or offset presses to monitor the colour quality variance. the position would seem to support those sizes
  23. It is certainly worth learning the basics in Publisher for this type of work. If you have a standard format for your helpsheets try saving them as templates. use the master pages to set up your headers and footers, just liek you would in word. Do not be afraid to ask other members or think you are being silly asking something basic, this is one of the most helpful and friendly forums I have come across. Good luck on your journey
