Hey guys, I did a quick search before posting and it looks like somoeone already posted about this a while back but the topic was in the old feature request section, I wasn't sure if anyone visited that section anymore. When you turn snapping on, designer will show you the distance between two objects when you move them closer or farther apart from each other, or the distance between your object and the edge of the canvas etc. The issue I'm having is that it is extremely difficult to read what those numbers are. I was just working on a project and it got so bad that I was guessing the numbers or eyeballing the positions of the objects. Is there something I can do in my settings to make the numbers bigger? If not, is this something that can be fixed in upcoming updates. thanks

@HDoowop Ah shoot, my bad, I didn't know these existed. One thing though, the brushes are really good but the pencil brushes are raster only. I was hoping to find vector brushes instead. I do have the Charcol brush from the Daub vector Vol 2 set but I was hoping for something that looked a little different. I'll try GabrielleM's suggestion though and see what kind of results I get. Thanks for pointing these out to me though.

Hey Guys, I wanted to try and make some industrial design type of drawings in Designer using the draw persona. I was hoping you guys would be able to help me make a brush that makes all strokes look like they were drawn by a pencil. Is it even possible to have a vector brush look like pencil? Thanks

As it is right now, it is really difficult for me to figure out which option is selected in certain areas of Designer. For instance, when looking at the cap, joint, and align section in the stroke panel it is sometimes really difficult for me to figure out which one of those is selected. I am not sure if there is a setting I can change to improve the contrast but it takes a minute or two for me to figure what is active. I also have the ipad version of Designer and I find that its use of the blue square outline to indicate the active option is a million times better/easier to use. Are there any plans of brining this over to the desktop versions? Its a small thing but I find it makes using the program so much better; plus it will also ensure that there is uniformity between the different versions of the program. This should also be implemented in all areas of the program. Thanks

Just bumping this one more time to see if anyone else uses the program in this way and can provide some suggestions on how to go about working in this way. It would be really cool to be able to draw like this and then have some type of auto close feature especially when or if AD gets released for the IpadPro, having the ability to draw completely in vector with the apple pencil would be really cool. thanks

I posted this video in the tutorial section to see if it was possible to work in this way but I was told that it wasn't. I am not too sure exaclty what specific feature to ask for because I'm not really sure whats going on in the background to allow it to happen. All I know is it would be really cool to be able to draw in vector like this with either the brush or pencil tool and be able to apply colour afterwards exaclty how he is able to do it in the video. Is something like this possible any time soon? Take a look at the video to see what I mean. thanks.

ahh ok ok, so I guess I'll have to take additional steps to achieve the steps in the video. If i'm using the vector brush and pencil tool, I guess I'll also have to be mindful to draw closed shapes in order to be able to fill them with coulour afterwards right? I hope we're able to get to the same way of doing things in a future update.

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to accomplish what Chi is doing in this video: More specifically, Im trying to figure how make my drawing with either the brush tool or pencil tool while still keeping the drawn object as a series of vector strokes (so in the draw persona) , and then be able to colour in different sections of the object afterwards. He starts to colour the object at the 5:50 mark. thanks

Hey Seneca, Thank you for uploading the file. I'm comparing the layers here to the layers in the pdf that comes in the folder with the illustrator file, it looks like there's some layers missing? Womens, kids, colors, etc. Also it seems that the dimensions are off? the "place you're design here" section is supposed to be 4500 by 5400 pixels from what I can see online. Is this just because we wont' be able to get a perfect transfer over? thanks

Hey Reglico, yeah I guess I spoke too soon lol, your method works but then i run into issues when i try to extend the chain so it has about 20 links in it; the layer hierarchy makes things real messy and i dont know if I can make the chain longer without messing up the previous links. I tried Alfred's method but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Im really new to the program so I don't understand what a compound shape or group is yet... I'll try to see if I can find some videos about it on youtube and figure it out. If you or Alfred are able to put up a step by step or a quick video that I can slow down and watch that would be amazing!! thanks

Hey Reglico, thanks for the info. I didn't know there was a chain brush in AD. I'll take a look. One thing though, my chain links are all going to be white with a black stroke, and they're going to be flat. The examples you've posted seem a bit more 3Dish, Im guessing thats becuase of the shading you've put on to the chain? I'm really new to this whole design thing so my bad if I'm overlooking the obvious. Also, are you able to provide me with some more detail with your second example? I'm not quite sure what you mean you say glue the blue link on itself... thank you again for the help.

Hey Guys, I'm tying to maek a chain for a project but I'm having some issues trying to figure out how to make it look realistic. I made the individual chain links using rounded rectangles. When I go to connect the links, I place one piece over the other. I can't figure out how to make it look like they are actually linked though; I'm not sure to get it to like they are weaving in and out through each other so a part of the link will be on top and apart of it should be behind the second link. Does anyone have any ideas or tutorials I can watch? I tried looking on youtube for some but they weren't too helpful. thanks
