Not just that. Your text has a lot of three line paragraphs which will play havoc with Widows and Orphans.
And just a suggestion, get rid of the double paragraph returns used for spacing the paragraphs. Use Space Before and or Space After in the Paragraph Style definition.

It's probably due to your Flow options. Preventing orphaned first lines and widowed last lines can have surprising effects like that. Also the Keep With Next setting will have effects like that.

Thank you v_kyr! I think I found a solution with breaking the curve at certain points. This after the fact that I went ahead and made multiple separate shapes as a workaround. 😛

Try breaking the curve at certain nodes, in the example below I broke the nodes at the base of the loops.
