  1. Hello affinity team,

Thank you for making my life so easy. Affinity sparked the creativity in me. Happy to create beautiful designs easy.

Suggestion: Could the brushes be organized by names?

    and the capacity to rename???

Now the brush that is added latest, shows up last.

I'd like to have this organized by name.

( For now due to some affinity bug, cannot import brushes )

    Thanks

    Gyan

  2. Hello, Affinity community,

has anyone noticed importing brush error? This is after the latest updates. Have never had this problem before. Since the problem exists in the affinity designer as well as affinity photo, i thought better ask the community. i cannot import any brushes in either of the programs. If anyone knows the fix, please lmk.

    Thank you

    Gyan

Not per default prefs/option settings or the like. - What you can do instead is make yourself a template file (doc or artboard based) with the needed document size and black rect fill pseudo background and setup some dummy text there in the font(s) you want to use. Then every time to you need a new doc of that style just reuse that custom template you made.

Macros or scripting support are sadly not available in AD which is a shame, since they would be more than useful.

v_kyr, i figured it out. i created the gradient text exactly as i wanted with black background, then select all and then click edit/default/save.

magically, AD remembered my rgb, margin etc settings, the fill automatically black as i wanted and the text with the gradient that was perfectly set. Life became sooooooo much simpler.

    Happy Camper!!!

    Hi gyan1,

    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

What OS/Affinity version are you using?

1 - Click and drag the brush to place it anywhere you want within each category. Right-click on it and select Move Brush to Category to move them between categories.

2 - See my reply above. Right click the brush and select Move Brush to Category.

Hi MEB, Affinity designer version 1.6.2.97

i meant can i have say all arrows, all flowers, all circles etc together. have to go one brush at a time. if i click on each one.

kind of having all categories organised.

    Hi Gyan1,

    Welcome to the forums :)

What happens when you try to import the brushes do you get any error messages?

    C

Hi Callum, no error messages as such. it says brushes imported successfully. Now also figured out, have to be in the pixel persona to use brushes. Now trying to organise all brushes, to have them, use them logically in each of their categories. lmk, if you have figured this out. Thanks!

I believe you are in the Draw Persona. Those brushes are Vector based; go to the Pixel Persona and search for the Brushes you just imported.

    That happened to me. :D

    Best regards!

Thank you!!! yessss figured it out. Affinity designer is soooooo amazing that now with photoshop brushes and affinity simplicity, having lots of fun designing. Who ever created this program are the coolest people on the planet!!!

  7. i am creating a site with a black background. In designer, need to create many new documents. For consistency, need all black. so when i open a new document type web color format RGB/16, opens a page with white background. then i take the rectangle fill it with black and begin my illustration. The question is : is there a way to open new documents in black as default and the font i use most as default? if so, how? thanks. Affinity has made my life soooooooo easy, now i got addicted.
