  1. Thanks @v_kyr. I've been reluctant to upgrade to the latest version because the last time I tried triggered a nasty crash. Maybe it's time to create a bootable partition on my external drive to see if there's still problems. It would be handy to have my data displayed.
  2. Hey @walt.farrell, Thanks for your response. I've attached a sample JPEG to this response. Many thanks !
  3. Hello, The Metadata>File section is blank/empty when opening images from my photo archive (created using PhotoShop) on AP v/ 1.9.3 for the Mac. I am able to view the information when using Phil Harvey's ExifTool which is part of Graphic Converter -- so I know that the information exists. (I've included screenshots from AP & GC to this message for review). Any thoughts on how to get AP to display my Metadata?
  4. AP files created in earlier versions are gorked in v/ 1.10 for the Mac Desktop (see image). Is there a fix? M1 Mac Mini w/ 16 GB of RAM.
  5. Beautiful. I'll give that a shot. Okay...that worked. I selected the "https" before going into the typography page to deselect ligatures for it to work.
  6. Using AFPUB 1.8.3 for the Mac. I included a URL as part of a flyer that I created (see attached image), then exported it as a PDF. When I copy & paste the URL from the PDF into a web browser, it changes the "tt" of the "https" into a question mark icon (see below). hps://portal.premiervirtual.com/event/register-jobseeker/ Thoughts on what's causing this and how to fix?
  7. Hey Phil, I had a similar problem and think the issue is with macOS 10.13.6. The only way that I could resolve it was to restore a backup so that I went back to 10.13.3. Working fine with AP 1.8.4 now.
  8. Hey duh-G I had the same problem. Resolved it by restoring a backup to 10.13.3. Nothing else would work.
  9. Hey Dan, Just to close the loop on this, I restored a backup via Carbon Copy Cloner dropping me back down to 10.13.3 and AP to 1.8.4. AP will launch and seems to be stable, so I'm not going to mess with it if I don't have to. I appreciate your attempt to assist.
  10. Hey Dan, Thanks for the guidance and sorry to be a bother. I unplugged my iMac from my router and insured that Wi-Fi was off, but received the same error when trying to open AP. I tried to reset as you suggested; however, I am not getting a "Clear User Data" option while launching AP while holding down the CTRL key. Am I missing a step?
  11. Affinity Photo_2020-11-16-070805_Kevin-Virobiks-iMac.crash Thanks for taking a look at this for me.
  12. Hi Dan, I made my ethernet connection "inactive" and turned wi-fi "off"; however, I received the same message when I attempted to launch AP.
  13. I installed a macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 update as well as Security Updates 2020-005 and 2020-006, and the Safari 13.1.2 update on Sunday and now I'm getting an Affinity Photo (1.8.4) quit unexpectedly message when I try to launch. Is this a known issue? Should I delete my copy of AP and reinstall from the App Store or would you recommend restoring the prior OS state from a time machine backup? So frustrating when updates break things.
  14. Thanks for the non-responsive reply. I did purchase AP from the APP store, my p.s. was a comment on my dissatisfaction with the APP Store's malfunction during my attempt to update my legally purchased copy of AP from the app store. You know, if you can't provide positive value in the support channel, it's okay for you to keep your comments to yourself.
  15. I am having difficulty updating Affinity Photo to v/1.7.2 from the App Store. After selecting "Update" I see a spinning wheel, but no progress dialog or other indicator. I using MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3. Anyone else having issues? p.s. Note to Self: Never, ever purchase from the crAPP store :-)
  16. Thanks. I guess it will remain a mystery.
  17. The CMD+R trick in the Mac App Store has yet to offer the 1.7 update for me. I'm still running High Sierra (legacy hardware needs). Does 1.7 require a newer MacOS? Thanks
  18. Ah. I was trying to import to the Library. Importing via the Macro panel worked. thanks.
  19. Thanks for the guidance. I deleted my changed file and re-downloaded the .afmacro file, but I am still unable to have AP recognize the file. :-(
  20. Hello John, I downloaded your file on Saturday and was unable to import it (the file was not highlighted as a format recognized by AP in the Finder selections -- Mac/Desktop). This morning, I changed the extension from "afmacro" to "afmacros" which allowed AP to recognize the file, but it returned an Unexpected Macros Format error message. I will attempt more trouble-shooting as I am able as I am certain that your macro will deliver a better result than my kludge. thanks.
  21. Thanks for the link. Here's a rough draft of what I am trying to create.
  22. I am attempting to "wrap" an image around another image of a pint glass. Is there a tutorial or other guidance on how to achieve the effect? I've spent some time playing with the different perspective effect filters without success. tia.
  23. That did it. Thanks for the tip. As a long-time PS user, there's a bit of a learning curve for AP -- but I'm getting there.
  24. Hello, Is there a way to hide the macro library panel on the left side of the screen? I could use the real estate. thanks
  25. iMac using High Sierra with a Canon 9000F Mark II on my 10-day trial of Affinity Photo. I am pleased to see that AP recognizes my scanner. However, I would like to be able to designate a larger output scan size of my 35mm negatives/slides. It appears as though the default output size is the same as the 35mm frame. Using Vuescan, I typically scan the image at 10" x 300dpi. Is there a similar adjustment available for AP? I would prefer to start with more data rather than sample up during the export. Thanks.
