As someone who used inkscape before, i do miss the node alignment feature. You can still move the node individually but it will get hectic when there is a lot of nodes. They should add this in 1.7 with all of the new snapping feature.

If they put a node edit persona or color persona for node tool and fill tool then yes, its bad. But autotracing is a big tool, with potentially a lot of tuning. It will be a persona for sure.

There is pressure. But it's quality oriented rather than time oriented.

Well I am not as much a Professional as all of you Testosterone members. However, after working  with an on computers for over 45 years now, I am also in favour of  A customizable a Saveable Workspace. However,  I do not see it as a huge time waster in setting up the workspace to a style I prefer. After all,  if you really know your program it should not take that much time in rearranging the tools to suit.
There are certainly many more  utilities  to add or improve upon in the current  version of Affinity - both Photo and Designer.

Oh, and Remember this adage:    "A bad workman always blames his tools". So  if you are wasting too much time in rearranging the workspace, may I suggest you EITHER learn how to Speedily rearrange the workspace or learn to use it in its Vanilla layout.

What is really missing in Affinity Photo for a Pro user is the ability to create customized workspace.
Especially now that many retouchers work on the set, this is very important.
We go back and forth from our normal place with our usual monitor layout to many other places with many different monitor layouts.
It's very annoying to rearrange every time all the panels to have our desired workspace.
So, having the ability to save and recall custom workspaces would be a great feature.

Professionals love to be fast and productive in the shortest time possible, so I think this is important for all the pros.

    Thanks again for your attention!

Can you give them any more information, or some specific examples?
A report of "something's not working like I'd like it to, please improve it" is probably too vague for the developers to work with.

That's why I advice you (IF you want to implement it) to put it behind an "advanced" button like your grid and axis manager.

Didn't know that existed. Still tho, addition to transform panel can accelerate workflow.

Inset Path would be great, but I think an even better (and more Affinity-like) feature would be a live version of it that you can apply like a stroke.

That plus a somewhat less-messy Expand Stroke would fill a lot of needs, I think.

Unfortunately, this is not in the roadmap so if they will implement this, it will be in 2.x version or above. They need to implement this tho, this is a very useful thing to have as an Illustrator. In all of their software IMO.

I think this is an improvement to the current transformation tool. If you want to implement this i advice you to keep the current transform dock and use this as the advanced version of it.
I think it's pretty straightforward. A is Area. I don't expect AD to be able to show area for every vector shape (integrating function is pretty hard). I do think that we should be able of object that is available in the shape builder tool or if can't at least it should be able to show polygon area. D is for dilatation. It's scaling, basically. The dilatation point is currently known in AD as "rotation centre". But, you can't specify the location of the rotation centre currently.
Why you should implement this? To distant yourself from Ai even more.

Yes, agreed. I think people got carried over by the fancy grid capabilities (which is really nice and cool) that they think AD is a CAD program. It's an illustration software, not technical drawing. Sure, some technical stuff here and there is important (mainly to distance AD from Ai) but let's not get carried away, shall we?

    Hello Dev's and Team

Want to ask if Serif is considering the add of colored ; artistic fonts and those new stuffs we enjoy on daily basis and which are supported on the web.
They are life and time saving for a lot of people out there but also help create really good design.
Attached you will see an example of what i'm talking about.

When i want to swap object position, i need to open notepad, copy the x y coordinate, twice. It would be elpful if i can just select 2 object, RMB, and there is a button that let me swap them easily.

    Wish for v 1.7. :
Not a spectacular wish, but would it be possible to put the UI Top menu bar text underneath the icons in two rows ?
For instance : "Align Horizontal Edges" takes up a lot of space  (that's just 1 example). I've got a 27" Mac and even then,
if I want to show all the icons & text that I'd like, there's simply not enough room.
Would be great if possible, thanks !!

Affinity Publisher probably can't open InDesign files in the first beta version. But, knowing that Affinity Software can open and export to ai and psd,i think it will able to at some point.
