Beautifully done. I’ve never read any Ionesco, but I remember seeing one of his absurdist plays when I was at school.

I watched your animation of the Dickens story ‘The Signalman’ the other day, an equally remarkable piece of work.

In my latest animated short "House Cleaning" I have used Affinity Photo for both "household" picture jobs (cropping, scaling, adjusting etc.and some green screen clean up) as well as "paint jobs" - painting of sets and prop textures etc.
As the only bitmap edit/paint tool in the production, I have credited it in the end titles.

Hope you enjoy my film, as I have enjoyed using Affinity Photo :-)

Bumping this, as it's still the principle reason I don't use Affinity Designer/Photo for illustration. It seems a curious omission to me - I can't think of any other design app that doesn't cover at least a rudimentary set of alternative cursors, and some of course offer a sweep of alternatives, i.e.:

    (Rebelle 2)

    (Clip Studio Paint)
Certainly software like Painter has offered an extensive cursor dialogue for a couple of decades by now. Is this something isolated to only the Windows version?

I've just checked out those links: the creature on its back in the alley is really good.

My favourites are Pieter Bruegel and his sons, Mark Rothko and of course Hieronymus Bosch.

Is this to your liking...Cubist 9 by Thomas C Fedro?  A little less stiff and would look good in stained glass.

Since I bought Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer before xmas, I have not been using any of my (many) other paint programs much. There is such a nice natural flowing feel to the Affinity brush engine, especially used together with DAUB's brushtips. Some examples here.
Thanks for great software at a price, poor artists can afford!

It would be very helpfull if prefs had the option to turn brush outline on/off. This goes for both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer (pixel brush)
    Preferences could then read:

    1. crosshair on/off
    2. brush preview on/off
    3. brush outline on/off

Personally I find the brush outline very distracting when drawing/painting in these otherwise excellent programs.

ToreB reacted to Icefront in Affinity Photo - Save As...
The current aproach of File -> Save as is the worst... It's like GIMP's very annoying feature.

Save as should allow to save all known formats - JPG, PNG, TIFF, etc.
So there are hundreds of forum posts regarding the save as and export commands, it's still not the best way, instead it's the most annoying ever.

Save as should allow the user to save the file in whichever format he wants. When data loss may occur a warning dialog is good enough. By saving a document as means changing the working file name and changing the working file path.
Export should save a file to another place, but the app should not change the working file and the working path.

Forcing users to do it in a cumbersome way to "save as" their work is highly annoying. Practically Affinity Photo is useless for me right now. Anyway, who uses such a software for professional purposes is completely aware of the file format limitations!

Please open any other software and see how it's working:
    - "Save" saves the currently opened document. If was not saved before, invokes the "Save as..." dialog.
    - "Save As" offers a list of known file formats to save the document. After saving, the file name/path is updated. Here, if the chosen format does not supports all extra data, a warning is enough. After saving the app sould keep all the extra data (layers, etc). After saving, a "file saved flag" should be set to not bug the user upon exiting the app that the file wasnt saved.
    - "Export" offers a list of known file formats to save the document. After exporting, the file name/path is NOT updated, the "file saved flag" isn't altered.
The above workflow is the best. Implementing another way only annoys the user and renders the software unusable.
