I appreciate your response; and, I do wish it is the issue I am having. Been there, but the page in the Activation does not match the instructions on the URL you sent. See attachments. This was one of a couple hints to me that something isn't right; and, from experience has made me consider one of the automatic Windows updates that MS now virtually demands, to be the cause of all the conflicting on-screen information. Also from experience, uninstalling MS updates has NEVER for been a great success, so I'm leary of continuing on that course. Still open to ideas based on the images attached compared to the instructions you provided a link to. Thanks, it is APPRECIATED!

Is anyone else having issues installing the latest versions (1.9.1) of Photo, Designer or Publisher on Windows10? Most recently, in the last three weeks or so, everytime I try to install program or app updates, Windows notifies me via a pop-up dialogue box, that "It's time to update your device". With a little research, it appears it is part of Microsoft's initiative of "S Mode", a stricter enforcement of security. S Mode apparently requires one (a) to use the Microsoft Store for installable items; and, (b) Limits Windows10 to the use of MS Edge (browser) and Bing Maps. In my case, I am able to use any map app and any other browser I've chosen; so if this is supposedly an enforcement of S Mode, actual implementation of S Mode (assuming that's the case since I cannot confirm it so) on my workstation (Win10 Pro, version 10.0.15063 build 15063) is inconsistent at best. I say I cannot confirm it because when I click on the "See how" link in the aforementioned pop-up, I get another pop-up, which states, "Your device is not running in S mode. Very confusing: If it's not in S mode, why is it asking me to update my system? I did go ahead and update Windows the first time I encountered this issue, and it is a suspect of causality for me. (I've begun uninstalling updates, one at a time, to see if there is any reversal of this chain of pop-ups.) So far, no reversals. I've spent hours on this issue (just wanting to update my three Affinity programs), but with what appears to be Microsoft's alienation to adequate support, I'm at a loss.d Any input from anyone? Any links to answers or options proven to be successful? Thanks in advance.

Not that I have any skin in this game (I own all three apps in the suite), and I tend to side with the side that provided templates, at least for me in the past, take more time to tear apart so as to understand; I was just thinking, ... maybe a video on how to create a template would be helpful. It may take more than one to do it correctly, but if well written with explanations for each step, it could possibly provide more useful information for ongoing future work. Just a thought. Hope it helps. RickyO

To All, THANK YOU! Attached is a png export (so that I'm not sending a 16Mb file). Not great, but will serve the purpose (part of a book on home buying). In it's current state, it gives me the focus I like, bright to the front with retained texture, ranging to the rear which is most shadows, with mid-lighting between. Thanks to all again.

Indeed, very helpful! Due to your choice of verbiage, I actually found my issue by fiddling with some of the adjustment layers I had produced. (In this case, "less is greater than more".) It's an example of implementation of multi-variable calculus.... The video is a bit above my pay grade; but I was due a promotion. Thanks again.

I'm still learning. I have an image of some landscaping boulders, see attachment. As you can see, the sunlight reflects quite brightly on them; far too much for the shot. What is a way(s) to correct just the rocks or area of the rocks without effecting the rest of the image? The problem probably started with how I photographed the shot, but it was the only angle that would work, and the time of day was not of my making. (The image is a jpeg, simply because the file size of the afp file is far too large to send along. I want to do the work in Photo, so assume any instruction offered will be done as such.) If there is an accurate YouTube or similar video, it works for me. Thanks in advance.

Believe it or not, I found it. It’s in the Malwarebytes Browser Guard, v.2.2.0, last updated 3/6/2020 from Malwarebytes.com website. After disabling it, the dl worked. That little extension is going bye-bye.... Thanks to everyone.- 21 replies

Interestingly enough, also have a similar dl problem using appsumo.com Appears they use another dl service which employs very long URLs to the specific downloads. That service appears to be klclick.com. Too obvious that both are long URLs.- 21 replies

Yes, was considering it. If I do, I'll scrub the registry as well before re-installing. Giving MW a few more hours to see if they come up with anything. All has gone well with it for months. Have dl'ed earlier Affinity updates no problems. Makes me wonder if there's a variable I'm just not aware of; and if so, why now? Thanks- 21 replies

Just tried that. Bizarre. I won't let me stop the service. Error 5: Access denied. MW support just requested a rerun of their diagnostic and copies of the logs. We'll see what they say. Thanks again.- 21 replies
