  1. Hi Lee, Thanks for the reply thats what my own conclusion was finally. Coming from a video background where we use proxies and switch them out at the end I was wondering if it could be done here! Could that be a potential useful feature request do you think? I guess it would be like a ''live document''.
  2. I'm working in AD and drag in a pdf/image, and add design work on top. I am then sent a new updated pdf/image with same name/specs. Is it possible to automatically replace the old image/pdf file used in AD with the new file keeping the overlaid design in place? Thanks!
  3. So I watched the video tutorial on reducing noise through stacking and have a question. How many images is needed for optimal results? I noticed in the video quite a large number of images was used. I tried experimenting myself with a couple of images. I stacked 3 or 4 but couldn't see much of a difference. So I'm assuming there is a ballpark number of pictures one would need to have in order to get noticeable denoising results? Obviously the more the better...but that isn't always practical. e.g. at least 10 or something? Thanks
  4. Actually, that reminds me I would love if we could do that with text size in the text tool - hover over the number and click + drag. Selecting font size from the dropdown or typing it in just doesn't quite have the same feel to it.
  5. Hi, I did a quick search of the forums so forgive me if this has already been asked! Just wondering is it currently/would it be possible to enable the adjusting of values via a trackpad slide? Example: One wishes to change the opacity of a layer. Click the drop down arrow beside opacity and hover your cursor over the lever?(see attached pic). Then simply slide two fingers on your track pad. Sliding down could decrease the opacity percentage, sliding up could increase it. This could even be implemented to other sliders too such a HSL, Vibrance maybe even levels etc... I first came across this behaviour using another program and I have to say when you get used to it, it can make adjustments quite intuitive.
  6. +1 for non destructive dodge and burn please! The above suggestions all work well and there are many other variations e.g. painting on colour with brush, curve masks etc.. but for example if you could just select the burn tool and start burning immediately on a an adjustment layer automatically it would be more efficient, not to mention time saving!
  7. You guys rock! :) I had hoped to be more involved on these forums than I have but haven't had the time unfortunately. I think I speak on behalf of most here when I say thanks for having (and continuing) such an open and responsive dialogue with customers. It makes a big difference compared to those of which we cannot name... 1.4 is really great and the fact that you mentioned raw HDR makes me really excited as that is literally the only thing I felt was missing so far. So far my workflow has been Capture One -> Affinity which is a bit clunky as I have to save flattened to send back to C1. If I could move more over to Affinity it would be great. Also thanks for implementing the ''double click to open'' feature. It may seem small but every few seconds counts when your dealing with a large volume! Happy Holidays!
  8. Just to chime in, I also have the same specs as Karim above and notice similar ''issues'' for lack of a better word. I've noticed that especially in the develop module my laptop has a tendency to get ready for take off i.e. fans can get quite loud! I should point out it is also similar in Affinity designer when dealing with a number of layers. I am aware these tasks are intensive but I find this does not happen in photoshop, lightroom or illustrator, even when dealing with very large files. I don't wish to sound negative as Affinity is very good software! (just offering some feedback). Obviously it's still in beta so I appreciate there's a few things still to iron out. Keep up the good work!
