Dear developers, please check the Crop tool and the Resize Canvas option. It crushes the Photo and Designer as well.

I consider myself as a most devoted fan / ambassador of Affinity software. I use it every day. And all my friends are tired of me recommending it. And the Smart Object feature is the most wanted and most asked one. I absolutely agree! One of the developers wrote on this forum that AP does not have the Smart Objects functionality because developers can not figure out into what to convert smart objects. I personally can not understand this explanation. Actually for me this is not an explanation but an excuse. AP has Embedded Documents functionality. And it works just the same as the Smart Objects. And I can not accept that it is impossible to import a smart object and convert it into an embedded document. @GabrielM, please tell us that Affinity team is going to consider this feature update. We are ready to wait for it even for years.

Thank you. This really helps. I was confused because the lower resolution export file did have all layers. Probably if the export resolution is lower than the resolution of the embedded document, AD exports it as is. And if the resolution is higher, it goes deeper and renders the embedded document first. And here come the export persona settings. In my opinion these setting should work or should not work, but every time despite the resolution.

I'm using Designer/Photo version 1.6.5.123 This sample document has an embedded document which also has an embedded document. After export the second file at double resolution has a problem - not all layers are exported. test.afdesign

Finally someone introduced a constructive idea

Could you please mention when it is going to happen? I do understand that MAS does help developers to reach customers. But I don't understand why a developer does not use as many channels to sell a product as possible. Considering that Affinity already has a store and adding one more digital product to it is free and just needs a couple clicks. I as a loyal customer prefer to pay directly to the developer.

Thank you for fast response. I do know, that some software just does not show the transparency even if it is really there. That is why I have used my Firefox browser to compare these files. I have placed all of them into one html page. The PNG exported through whole document export does not have transparency. Another test I have made - opened both files in Affinity and got the same result - one is transparent, the other is not. If it is important, my OS version is Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1, Affinity Designer version is 1.6.3.96 beta

Dear Affinity developers. I am an experienced user of graphics software. And I could not stay out and I have to say that saving PNG in Affinity is very confusing. Why the export persona does save the transparency, but the export dialog does not? Please make it more obvious. The user should know what to expect after saving the file. Probably a checkbox for saving transparency or a new preset named "PNG32" / "PNG24 + 8" / "PNG 24 with Alpha" will make it more clear for the user.
