  1. Thanks for the beta download link.

I am really looking forward to trying out this beta version. Having never used beta software before, I wonder are we expected to report on any bugs we find and  is there a process we are suppose to use for that.. ?

One thing I was able to do immediately was import a pdf exported from a multilayer document in InDesign. This is great for me.

Looking forward to getting to know the software a bit better later today.

I purchased the software and I realized I can't import styles, shapes, etc., so now Affinity Photo is just sitting on my computer in the Software Graveyard.

Selfish not to support a premium software like Photoshop add ons, etc.

Why would you ever expect Affinity to support all these Photoshop components.

Clearly if you are so dependent on PS then that is probably the only software you can use?

Just a quick thought..... Pageplus and Affinity Designer have an extremely useful 'assets' area.  Will Affinity Publisher have a similar feature, for saving your reusable designs and elements?

Just wondering if anyone know if Pageplus 9 is a reasonable alternative while waiting for Publisher?  It is on still available for £19 I think.

There won't be any problems getting updates for the release version. It's just that Serif don't currently have a mechanism for verifying your eligibility to run a customer beta, since you're a Microsoft customer rather than a Serif one.

I am interested in this too. I purchased Affinity Photo and Designer from MS store. I now realise it would have been much better to purchase directly from Affinity store. I am very interested in trying Publisher. I am still using CS3 from Adobe and Publisher would mean I can move completely to Serif. Will I be unable to try the beta release of Publisher when it comes?

  5. I an not too sure what linked columns are so can't comment but I have found a work around for multiple pages in designer.

Create a multiple page document and convert to pdf. You can do this in Word, etc. Open the file in Affinity Designer. Designer maintains the multipage of the original document.

I discovered by opening a document template, originally created in InDesign and exported as a pdf template. All layers etc. were retained. I have since check by creating a simple document in Word and saving as a pdf. My documents had two pages so not too sure what limits there might be.

It is working for me as a work around on a small document with tables , vector graphics and bitmaps and a lot of text. Obviously Publisher would be much better, when it arrives.

  6. I bought Affinity Photo from Microsoft Store and now want to buy Affinity Designer.

Should I buy this also from Microsoft Store or can I purchase from Affinity Store? I note, from reading this forum, that I cannot launch Affinity Photo from Lightroom because I bought from Microsoft Store. Is there any other issues I need to be aware of for Designer and where I purchase it from?

    thanks for any advice
