  1. Hi Matt and thanks for the answer. Obviously, it would be in addition and integrated in a better way. As you read on my other post, many things are sadly wrong with Opacity (I only use it for opening old projects now, because it so slow, etc.), but it introduce some concepts and is still the only available software of his kind having some terrific features. I'm not an illustrator stricto sensus, but I'm part of those people designing UI and thus more into flexibility of the features because we also project on “can this be done by code?”. Flexibility (everything non destructive, speed, etc.) is the core of your amazing softwares. You made from the dream of quitting Adobe something we can actually really touch, that's why I'm dreaming even more.
  2. Hi folks, Affinity's already allows calculations on input fields : HUGE thanks for this, really. I would propose providing even more flexibility and power with "real math" everywhere. Let's illustrate with an exemple: I've done the following with Opacity (http://likethought.com/opacity/) http://drbl.in/hHAz If you look closely, you'll see the know has stripes like a vinyl. Here is it: And this is how it's done: Or why not this: As you can imagine, the power of this is quite amazing: • 100% parametric, you set it the way you want • 100% non pixellated texture • Not speaking about using formula in other fiels than color only (ie: this element is 50% of this one) • You name it
  3. That's one smart solution. Which already would be quite ok (default would be paste as layer + transparent background + color profile of the capture or a default one, etc.) Still, the "new document" set at clipboard size would allow to choose other options like transparent background or not, profile (if change is needed), margin, etc.
  4. Where is the +10000 emoticon :D I definitely vote for this, it's a tremendous time saver feature.
  5. I am groot. Else, my name's Édouard Puginier, freelance photographer and artistic director since about five years; after ten years as 2D-3D CGArtist, web designer, artistic director, etc in communication companies. About half my actual time is use to work for TheKeptPromise softwares design. I'm always trying to optimize my workflow at any level, either by using tools to build my own automations or by searching for software that could really —change— the deal compared to the “Major” crap (yes… do follow my eyes… ^^). Obviously, I've landed here. Nice to share with you guys to make these apps a terrific and being productive rather than getting crazy even trying to understand why an Adobe (ups, I named it) developper had even thought to code the behavior or let pass the bug we hate (pick one…).
  6. Hi MEB and thanks for the answer. Obviously, I knew how to workaround this and the example was ultra basic for the purpose of the question :) But on much more complex shapes, it's start being a huge time consuming task for something that should be instant. Hope you have this planned soon! Thanks for the quick answer BTW. Cheers.
  7. Hi folks, Sorry if it sounds like obvious, but actually, I've still not found any way to instantly select —all— external nodes (or the full external path) on the basic following example: Any idea? Thanks for the help.
  8. Hi MEB and thanks Malcom the question. I definitely second this. As we obviously always put softwares in comparison, Sketch is now proposing quite some interesting export options: • multiple format and resolutions for a single element • px, w, h unit concept • naming concept (with path inside) • etc. See http://bohemiancoding.com/sketch/features/#exporting and http://bohemiancoding.com/sketch/support/documentation/11-exporting/ Note this cool feature: “A neat trick is that you if you include a slash (a '/') it will create subfolders for your first. For example, if you named your slice foo/bar.png, it would first create a folder named 'foo' and then create a image named 'bar.png' in there.” A quick example on how this is really handful to my workflow with Sketch: I'm really often deals with logotypes, and depending the project, I need to export a company logo for different usage (means color can change, resolution, format, etc.) For this reason, I create for each company a "logotype" file which only contains the vectorial logo, let's say the file is equiv. to 1024px width so I can easily see. But the point is that I don't care my document size, because (thanks to vectorial, which is the power of Affinity Designer btw, only the export is important. So for each logo, I create multiple exports (ex. 512w, 96w, etc.) and just click the one I need at the moment. If missing, I create it and boom, done. But, If there is one software I'd recommend you guys to give a look, is (was? :() the amazing Opacity.app http://likethought.com/opacity/ Yes, the website is kind of frightening, and the software is buggy and ultra slow when it comes to have many elements on a document, and it has not been updated for years, but please, please give it a try. This is —by far— the most stunning and brillant software of is kind I've seen for the multiple concepts it introduced. Don't stop to the look, look under the hood! Speaking of export here, take a look to what they call "factories", the flexibility of this, multiplied by the crazy power of the variables make it potentially one of the most productive software I've ever found. Such feature could be embedded to all your software line and would lost in Deep Space any competitors. Thanks for reading and for your support! Cheers,
