  1. Multi Combo Ultra Bump on this :) (Still having a Lightroom killer is not that hard to make for you guys… Making an Aperture substitute however, is something else :) )
  2. Good evening, As far as I know, Affinity does not support yet to create multiple slices from a single layer. Here's why this can become an issue for some works: Let's say you design a button (very basic rectangle + round corners) that you want the export in png (so keeping transparency behind corners) If I select my button layer and (in export personna) clic "Create Slice", I get an auto sized slice of my button, with transparency. All of this is perfectly fine. But… what if I want a three parts or nine parts buttons? In the case of a three parts button, I would expect to resize my slice to the left part, then create two other slides from this layer to set the central and right parts. Sadly, this is not possible. So I thought I could workaround this by manually creating my two other slices, but the manual slice behaviour is not the same (and I'm 100% fine with it), as it propagate to all layers. Am I missing something? Cheers.
  3. Thank you guys! You rocks! https://twitter.com/tazintosh/status/788816777505570816
  4. Hi again, When playing with embedded documents, two things are missing to me (but perhaps I've not found them yet) Let's say my embedded document has a width of 1024px. Once embedded to a parent document, we can decide (quite often) to resize it, and if ever, I'm missing: • An information on the transform panel telling me by how much it has been resized from its original size. (ie. transformed width = 643px --> scale would show somewhere 62,79% • A button + right click menu entry, etc. to instantly scale it back to it's original dimension What do you think?
  5. Good morning everyone, I'm actually intensively using Affinity Photo/Designer for a web project. My design include many embedded documents for a greater flexibility. But here's my problem: I like to set my embedded documents with a canvas much bigger than the element I need in my final composition For instance, the following illustration is my embedded document (vastly unzoomed). Its canvas is bigger than what I need on my final design. In fact, I basically just need the book and its shadows. But having a bigger canvas, allows me to better "view" the book in an "environnement". When I'm done, I just deactivate the background and move around my layer, scale it (a lot) etc. into my final composition. Then, comes the time of exporting the book image so I can include it in my html. At this point, I —need— my book to be cropped to it's minimum. I need to clip all transparents pixels. Sadly, on the export persona, if I select my embedded document and create a slice from it, the slice is obviously surrounding the exact bounding box of the document. Of course, I understand this, but I would love to be able to check an export option "clip transparent pixels" and ends up with something like this automatically:
  6. Hey MBd. It's working, thanks. But… this is insanely unproductive!!! (not your fault of course) Specially when considering the fact that my gradient tool always reset to "type: none" every time I press G keystroke to use it!!! Non speaking about the color gradient always set from white to grey, no matter I save the defaults. All of this adds a tremendous amount of clics to get what you need. I would like to ear a developper opinion on this. To me, the gradient tool on a mask should by default act as a brush: You can add (overlap) new gradients on your mask at any moment without ever starting from scratch. When using the gradient tool, any new editing erase all previous work! Most irritating, you can create a gradient mask and paint on it, but not the opposite! The mask definitely needs some work. Dodge and Burn tool, are still not working on mask :(
  7. Thanks for the answer MBd. This I tried already, but looks like only the topmost mask applies.
  8. Hi folks, How can I simply do this? GradientTool&Mask.mov It's an almost everytime needs for me when advance editing a photo :( Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.
  9. Hi folks, It's not really a bug, but more a usability enhancement which could prevent users misunderstandings. I've noticed some cases where checkboxes doesn't use the "mixed" (see Xcode) state. For instance: Create two rectangles Set the stroke option of one to "Scale with object": checked, the other not. Select the two rectangles The expected result would be to use the mixed state for the checkbox. I'm sure this applies to other options, sadly, I did not take note of this when I stumble on them. Thanks for your support and your work always making Affinity software better.
  10. Thanks!!! (I could have thought this one lol) It's some steps more, but ok.
  11. I've to agree with an option to "definitely" reset the bounding box, and just bump this post ( finding this one.
  12. Hi Ben, I was going to create a bug report, but found this topic and discovered that showing first the distorted bounding box was made by design. The "second press" feature is well thought, really, I can see the potential of it, but more specifically in my workflow, it's not a "beneficial" feature as this prevent the snap I'm expecting etc.: is there any way to make sure to reseted bounding will be definitive? I tried to workaround this, by "converting to curve" etc. with no luck :( How to —really reset— my bounding box?
  13. Hi folks and Happy Birthday to AP and all the team!!! I just figured out that an option for the Crop tool to instantly crop to a selection bounding box, would be quite helpful. Also, providing an option to snap the crop area to selection edges could be very nice. What do you think?
  14. Really? We can't only be 4 people to see the potential of this feature! ;)
  15. Good evening everyone! I'd like to propose the following feature: "Derived colors" --> "Derived color is a color that dynamically depends on another color (a Global Color in Affinity case). It is derived from the parent color using some of the built-in color operations" • change opacity • change hue • change brightness • change saturation • apply shadow • apply highlight • copy You can watch Derived Color in action in a software like PaintCode here on YouTube I hope you'll agree how great and efficient for productivity this is :) This concept was far before used into the amazing Opacity.app which still yet, provide some unbeaten feature anywhere else. Cheers,
  16. Hey guys, I'll bump again on this feature because it's so needed :) Reminds the need Lenogre had (but explained it thinking to the old AI way ;)) :
  17. Sadly, looks like we are minimum of two people out of this single thread to have a 100% failure doing the way you show on the video. The result is two overlapping nodes, that all. They are not joined (merged) to one node. I've tried many many ways with my example file. It simply not working for us.
  18. PixelPest: of course, don't worry R C-R: thank you for the time you put on this! As you said, this is still a lot more complex & non-intuive than it should be. Honestly, I've done it in a few seconds in AI. This is sad when we all know how faster & smarter AD is… Moreover, my example was very basic and reduce from the real case, but when you have to play with many many more elements like this one, it's really not funny not having such a working feature. I look at the way you break a curve. Here's mine: • With node tool, create a new node between the two you're actually planning to "open" • Click the break button (this new node was already selected, so it's save another step of selection) • Drag over to select the nodes (we see one because overlapping) • Delete
  19. Hey MEB, Thanks for the answer and the video. I had already tested what you did, sadly, this is not "joining", it's just a visual effect :( look : NotJoining.mov PixelPest, History is not a solution, for instance, what if I've simply received this file from someone else, or it's extracted from a PDF, etc. There are tons of situations where you simply are in this case. Even if the actual trick shown here was working, this would be a terrific amount of time when you have to deal with dozen, hundred of points to fix! I have to switch back to Illustra*shi* for this, believe me, it's really painful! But… select two nodes, ⌘j, boom… select two nodes, ⌘j, boom… select two nodes, ⌘j, boom…
  20. Hi folks, Listen, I've no clue if I'm completely tired, missing something or whatever else related to me that could explain such an issue, but I cannot understand how to simply join two points! If you look at the following image, I would like the join A with B and C with D. I've tried many ways, look on the help, look on the forum, and still not luck. The left "shape" you see on the capture (the bracket thingy [ ]) is one unique so called "(Curves)" in my layer panel. The right shape is what I'd like to achieve (tricked for this example). Any bright light would be much appreciated! I've attached the file is you want to "play" around. Join.afdesign
  21. Lol, this was right in front of my eyes :D I must have been quite tired yesterday evening! Thanks MEB!
