Yes, seems very strange. I recommend software I like and know about. I don't need anything in return to help others in making a software decision if they ask me. I will give my honest opinion on pros and cons, as I do on this forum. Seems to just be the "right" thing to do. Not sure where this culture came of wanting to be rewarded for recommending software. If anything I would think less of that recommendation if I knew they were getting something out of it.

Sorry for the confusion, I worded that post wrong, and I can't edit it or delete it or rephrase what I was trying to say.  What I was trying to say was that my mom and I use Affinity, we recommend it to creatives and freelancers that we know, and would like it if we could sign up for an affiliate program. I probably didn't take the time to think about how my comment would come across when I was writing it.

Maybe it's because I'm 17, or the fact that I was excited that something like this could be possible. In my eyes an affiliate is kind of the same as an ambassador, and the thought of signing up to become an "Affiliate of Affinity" sounded quite nice.

I'm sorry once again for my choice of words in my previous comment.

  2. Hi MEB - thank you for your response.

After starting up Affinity Photo again today to work, and without changing any settings (Enable Metal Compute Acceleration), the white balance seems to be working normally again. I am not sure what I did yesterday differently today.

Is there a chance that by leaving AP open for long periods of time (and not editing anything) that when I open a RAW image the white balance sliders start acting strange? I tend to do this.

I am running the latest version of AP 1.7.3, as well as the latest version of macOS Catalina 10.15. Attached is a photo of my hardware specs.

    Kind Regards,

    Jayden

  3. I have noticed that whenever I batch process my RAW images (Canon EOS 700d), Affinity Photo seems to apply some kind of grading to the images without macros.

When I take photos for friends or family, I convert all of the taken images to jpeg so that it is easier for me to view them on a phone and share if need be.

But I have noticed that batch process seems to pull the recoverable highlights down to viewable levels but overall darkens the entire image. Is this something with my display or how the computer renders the RAW files?

If there is a way to disable this processing, please let me know :)

Attached are the Batch Processed jpeg images and original RAW images, and a screenshot of the settings I am using within Batch Processing.

    Regards,

    Jayden

  4. A problem that I'm facing is when I copy and paste a sum of text from word into APu, and change it to a custom "Body" style, all the italics changes to normal fonts, and I don't want to have to go through a 320 page document, looking for all the places where there needs to be italics...

Is there any way to change the format into another style without italics or bold sections being changed?

How do you get the alignment feature when you create your text box to perfectly fill the margins?

First you drag your margins into place on the screen (usually in master pages), then you click on the little magnet at the top right of the page, which will turn on "snapping." Then when you drag a text box over a margin on a normal page, it will automatically snap into place... (I hope that is the answer to what you were asking :))

  6. I've been editing a document, and have margined specific places on odd and even places for the text frames... But if I delete one page, all the text frames on the pages after that get moved to different areas on the screen. (I assume to where they were on their original pages)

For example, I have two facing pages, and the text frames are not placed exactly in the center of the pages. When I delete one page, all the text frames just move over to the previous page, but in the same places they were on the other page (not where I would like them to be).

They are flowing text frames. How else could I delete a page or move a flowing text from one page to the previous without losing the specific position of the text frame? (Example Below)

  7. But now that leads me to my next question:

I already have a file in Word, and I'm planning to just copy and paste it into APUB. It would be really useful to just copy and paste it into one block on page 2, then have the rest automatically flow into the next text frames and pages to come, right up to the end of the document. Is there any way to do this?

I've tried to do it on a master page and link two text frames on the two different pages (so that in the normal pages the two text frames would be linked), but it doesn't copy those linked text frames onto the pages (which does make sense).

    Thanks guys
