  1. Also affects me in V2 and it is disappointing because I want to use global colors and symbols together.
  2. I would find a find/replace feature for layers (particularly artboard titles) very valuable. Anyone else agree?
  3. I agree that this should be able to be disabled. I change dropbox values when trying to scroll the containing panel. I *never* want to change dropdown values using scrolling. But I'm pretty sure there is no current way to disable it.
  4. I really, really like Affinity software, but I do make a lot of errors because of this little icon, which I can barely understand when I'm looking directly at it. I end up unintentionally changing the aspect ratio of elements (or not), blissfully ignorant until I've already made a bunch of additional changes and I no longer remember what the correct aspect ratio was supposed to have been. Can you please make the visual cue *significantly* more obvious? Update I've made so many mistakes in V2 and I couldn't remember how V1 even looked, so I looked it up. The old indicator was an embarrassment of riches. No wonder I'm so mistake-prone using V2!
  5. Yes! This is also an everyday issue for me exporting from both Affinity Photo 2 and Affinity Designer 2. I did not have the problem before version 2. When I click on Export Slices, I frequently get a beach ball and I have to quit are restart the app. Even restarting the app is not fool-proof. I sometimes have to restart 2, 3, or more times to get it working. +1
  6. Until a counter-example is demonstrated, I agree with @thomaso. I believe that when anchoring is enabled on both sides of an axis, the state of the corresponding double arrow (solid or dashed) has no effect. Thanks for everyone's responses.
  7. With the Move Tool active, I selected two text frame objects within the same document. I wouldn’t expect the contextual toolbars to be different, but they are, as shown: I haven’t pinpointed a reproduction procedure. For each, I want the contextual toolbar that allows me to change font-weight and text styles. I will update this post as I learn new details about the problem. In the meantime, if anyone knows a solution, please advise. Thank you!
  8. I’m not an expert on typography, but it made sense to me to have paragraph spacing proportional to font size. I wanted a value of 100% for "Space after", but text styles only supports absolute values. If not a good suggestion, what would you suggest in return? Thanks!
  9. Yes, it doesn’t work for me. Does it work for you? Update: I think I figured out what causes the feature to fail to apply to non-text objects. If the object was copied and pasted in from another document in which the object was filled by global color in that document. Seems like a bug because I obviously want to make it a global color in the current document.
  10. In addition, there are many times where “From Fill As Global” doesn’t work with objects. Reproduction is complicated, but it isn’t rare in my workflow. The work around is to quickly make a dummy object, get its color with the color picker, and then select “From Fill As Global” on the new object. That’s always worked.
  11. "Add to Swatches…" > "From Fill As Global" doesn’t work for text frames or artistic text. I can create a swatch from a text object, but not a global color.
  12. I also experienced this issue. When I created new text frames, they had red backgrounds for no obvious reason. It happened suddenly and I don’t know why. Glad I found this thread. The solution, as posted by oschrenk, is to select the text frame and Edit > Defaults > Factory Reset.
  13. Note: I don’t understand color profiles very well, so the question may be flawed as a result. I'm working on an app interface for iOS and I believe I should be using the sRGB color profile. However, I accidentally created my file using SMPTE. When I attempt to convert the document to sRGB, the global colors I use in the document become detached from the elements that use them. Unfortunately, I noticed this problem a bit late, so it would be a lot of work to reapply all the global colors to all the relevant objects. I also noticed that the colors appeared less vibrant after the conversion. How do more experienced designers deal with these kinds of issues?
  14. Maybe a strange questions but—if I wanted circular pages for example, could I make the pages themselves circular?
  15. Agreed. And further and further away from "Affinity Shortcuts > Any App > Edit has 2 rows for Emoji & Symbols" 😂
  16. Not sure I understand. Both are objects that can be manipulated: Deleted, duplicated, reordered, cut and pasted (ideally), etc. If both can be selected, then which selection counts? Considering the position of the mouse cursor as you mentioned previously seems strange. The gray selection state confuses me too. Not sure what that's trying to achieve, really.
  17. I'm beginning to notice more issues with the Pages panel. Let's start with these: Not seeing a way to cut/copy selected pages or spreads to paste into another AFPublisher file? I think that would be useful Reordering pages when you have many is painful and in my experience buggy when dragging a spread long distances
  18. Also, I'm thinking more about the different page/spread selection states. It does seem deficient in some way. What you're calling the brownish selection state (mine's blue FWR) shouldn't be possible while a layer is simultaneously selected. If you choose a layer, it should deselect pages/spreads and vice-versa. That way the delete action only has one unambiguous object. Do you agree?
  19. That's a really good point. I don't really need the keyboard shortcut/menu item. I just want the delete key to work. Standard procedure to prevent accidents is to throw a warning dialog. In that case, I'd like an "I know what I'm doing" version (say, command+delete) that deletes without said warning.
  20. The short answer to your principal question is yes—I would like that menu item. Of course I know exactly what you mean when you doubt the value of deleting something with a keyboard that was selected with a mouse, but starting a process with a mouse doesn't necessarily imply the mouse is best to complete the process. Selecting an option from a context menu or clicking a nearby icon may only take a second or two with the mouse, but tapping delete is measured in milliseconds. The time saved is not the issue at all. These seconds, even repeated numerous times, don't add up to anything much. However, the brain is conditioned to be lazy and it is therefore natural for me to select a page/spread and press delete. When my natural inclination doesn't work, the resultant feeling is ever-so-slightly jarring, which takes me out of doing mode and puts me into troubleshooting mode. It's also a matter of consistency. I predict many users delete layers from the Layers panel in precisely the same way (i.e. click+press delete), and that behavior is accepted. Software problems like this always seem incredibly trivial and, compared to any number of things I could readily name, are. But, I think we should agree that in general it is at least preferable to "pave the cowpaths" and not break the user's intuitive flow. I want to point out that my posts here are always done with a gracious heart. Making software of this class is supremely difficult and I am overjoyed that Serif has done such a remarkable job overall. My only aim is to potentially help in a small way to make the software 1/10,000th of a percent better.
  21. You're right. The issue is with the shortcut itself. I had command+delete. To be honest, what I actually want is to be able to delete pages that I select in the Pages studio using the keyboard.
