  1. @John Pellerin Oops. Try this email address: AffinitySupport@Serif.com. I seem to have two different addresses for a problem I recently had - which was resolved very quickly. 😳
  2. @John Pellerin I was just typing a reply when @walt.farrell posted his reply! (I was suggesting that perhaps Walt could help you.) I have not purchased anything directly from either Microsoft or the Mac App Store, so cannot help you there. If you did buy Affinity Photo directly from Serif, you could send an email to support@seriflabs.com explaining your problem, but be advised that Serif staff are on an extended -- and much deserved -- holiday break from Dec. 24 to Jan. 4, 2021.
  3. Welcome to the Forums, @John Pellerin! If you purchased your Affinity Photo from the Serif website, you can go to www.store.serif.com and then log in using your email address and password that you used to buy Photo. You will be directed to all of your downloads, and your Product key will be there. Hope this helps!
  4. Welcome to the forums, @Carolyn283. There are two possibilities that come immediately to mind. You may have accidentally deleted your Studios (VIEW>Studio>Show Left Studio, Show Right Studio , or Window> Separated Mode. If so, then put a check mark beside the left and right Studios, and uncheck Separated Mode. Hope this helps.
  5. Although the JixiPix plugins will not work yet with my new MacBook Pro 2020 M1 chip with Big Sur, here is a first attempt using their Pastello Pro software with my good old trusty iMac (High Sierra). I used an image from the Stock Panel applied the pastel plugin, then sent it back to Photo where I added a Curves adjustment, a Levels adjustment to the pastel effect, to lighten and brighten it a little and then tossed in a border with an outline. So here are some "social distance-ers" without masks. Merry Christmas everyone and here's hoping that the developers of various apps make their plugins work with our lovely Affinity Photo in 2021.
  6. Welcome to the forums @micheal_rotana! If you will browse through the Tutorials section of these forums you will find many useful tutorials posted by Designer users. (Also many using Photo which can often be used in Designer.). There are many excellent tutorials proved by Affinity at their website affinity.serif.com. Hopefully these should help you get started on your way with this wonderful app. 🙂
  7. Welcome to the forums, @Jasper Holthuis! I also have a new Macbook Pro with the M1 chip. If you purchased Publisher directly from Serif, you can delete the version of Publisher you transferred from your older Mac and then go to store.serif.com and sign in. From there you can access your purchase code, and download v. 1.8.6. When you install that fresh version, you should find Publisher working beautifully. If you purchased your copy of Publisher from the MAC App Store, I am not quite sure how to help, as I have bought everything directly from Serif. I do know that removing the previous version and starting fresh worked for me. Hope this helps!

    Xmas Trees

Here is another 2020 bump for these beautiful Christmas trees.
  9. @carl123 Your updated avatar has me in stitches! Nothing like good old fashioned British humor to save the day. Merry Christmas to you and yours in spite of it all!
  10. @eejits Well done!! What wonderful news for you and your wee critters! 2021 should be a banner year for you all!!🥂
  11. @grahamm7 It would probably be a good idea to post this question in the Forum section, “Affinity Support and Questions,” rather than here in the Tutorials section. You may receive an answer more quickly from someone who does have past experience in Serif Page Plus.
  12. Well, at least I have all my fonts, images, and backup files for Affinity brushes, assets, palettes, macros, styles, LUTs, etc. where I need them! As for the rest . . .🥴
  13. Welcome to the Forums, again @craftynurse. As you start learning Designer you will find that there are many wonderful people — Affinity staff and users of Photo, Designer, and Publisher — who will be extremely kind and helpful here in the Forums. So post away when you would like help! They have most certainly rescued me again and again and again!
  14. @jfw222.and @smadell Isn’t Big Sur fun? I managed to get myself heaved out of the Forums yesterday by clicking on a helpful popup on my new laptop, which turned out not to have been correctly linked to my keychain settings, in spite of Migration Assistant. Most thankfully, Affinity staff could figure it out, and here I am (possibly unfortunately) up and running again.
  15. After a really difficult year for all of you with horrid virus-related working conditions, after giving all of us so much that is wonderful to use in spite of it all, after an approximately 150% increase in Forum members asking questions and needing sorting (while you are struggling with those working conditions), and after another year of superb and uniformly gracious help, by rights you all deserve a VER’R’R’RY long vacation in some untrammeled virus-free warm and sunny spot. Failing that, I would like to join the many others who wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of all possible New Year. Affinities are the Best.
  16. @MEB I just tried both of these issues. No crashes for either opening an image file on Photo, or Copying and Pasting as New From Clipboard. Smooth as silk. But again, I have downloaded from the Affinity Store.
  17. @MEB Just thought you would like to know that 1.8.6 can function perfectly. I have a new MacBook Pro 13" with the M1 chip. I migrated everything from my iMAC High Sierra over to the MacBook with the three Affinity apps all using 1.8.4. On the iMac, Photo takes over 6 seconds to launch, Designer and Publisher about 3-4 seconds. I deleted the three apps from the MacBook and then downloaded all three v. 1.8.6 from my account in the Affinity Store. They all downloaded without a glitch, and I have tried all sorts of things that seemed to have stumped others, so far using Photo. Everything so far is working like a charm. I purposely turned the MacBook off over night and then restarted today. Opened Photo, Designer, and Publisher and it took about 2 seconds for each one to open. No bouncing ball, just a really speedy startup. So far the only "glitch" is that I cannot install two JixiPix plugins, but that would appear to be an issue with those apps, not with Big Sur and Affinity. Happy as a clam!!
  18. Fun little smiley face on the “bonnet.” Or in front of the bonnet?
  19. @Patrick Connor Just received my Publisher Workbook here in South Carolina, USA from your mailing facility in Nottingham. Beautifully packaged, beautifully shrink-wrapped, beautiful condition, beautiful book! English version. In this virus-disrupted world with everybody ordering everything online, it is an enormous feat. Another job very well done by all of you. Thank you so much!!
  20. Alright, Peter, you asked for it. I hope @eejits won't mind. You're sure that our Nessie is there, If only you'd locate her lair. So you come here to pokesium by boat and on shore, But it's Jokesium Hoaxium who's fooled you once more!
  21. @Pastor Danny Fierro welcome to the forums! You might like to take advantage of Affinity’s free 10-day trial of Publisher. Anything you create and save can always be used in a later purchased version, if that is what you decide to do. There are also free trials of Photo and Designer, but it might be a bit much trying them all at the same time. For Publisher: https://affinity.serif.com/publisher/trial For Photo or Designer just substitute (/photo/ or /designer/ ) for /publisher/
  22. @grahamm7 I tried the same thing with a longer group of text. It still works. From your screen shot I cannot tell which hamburger icon you selected , but I created a subcategory and everything still worked well. It is very hard to see your assets panel with the dark UI but it does look to me as though you have three groups of text assets in your subcategory "Text." Could you change your UI temporarily to Light, and then see what shows up in your Assets Panel? I use the light UI but when I changed it just now, my assets panel looks like yours. Dark, with very dark little groups of text.
  23. Welcome, MickM! If you will go to Designer>Preferences>User Interface, you should be able to drag the Background Grey Level slider all the way to the right and then your background will be white. Also, the tools will be grayed out until you either start a new document FILE>NEW, or FILE>Open. Then your tools and icons on the Context Toolbar will be colored and operational. Hope this will help. Oops. @Old Bruce and @walt.farrell beat me to it! And don't worry @MickM there isn't any egg on your face . . . I wonder how many millions of us looked at that totally gray expanse and thought, "Now what?" at the very beginning. Bet you will love Designer as you dig into its possibilities!!
  24. That was what I thought. In Publisher 1.7.3 it was easy to drag the selection on Mac. Since then I have also used the Add from Selection option.
