@Jochum Berg Welcome to the Forums! 😊 What nice “baby steps!” As you become more and more familiar with the lovely Affinity apps I am sure you will find them more and more fun to use! -
affinity designer [Affinity Designer] Interactive Safari Park Plan
jmwellborn replied to MmmMaarten's topic in Share your work
@MmmMaarten Stunning! I waited, holding my breath, to see whether the little boat would get under the bridge. Should have known it would. Your map is incredible! Love the water waves and -- of course -- the moving animals. If I had one of these on my desktop I would never get anything done! -
@AdamStanislav Good news! There should be room for your computer equipment -- just keep everything else in storage!!🙃 Seriously, so glad that you are getting a little bit settled again.

@mliving and @coral I can’t find the actual link to the post from @Leigh on these forums right now, but do remember the jist of it. It was suggested that we go to the Apple Systems Preferences>Displays> and uncheck “Automatically Adjust Brightness.” I tried this and have found that all three — AP, AD and APub — open very quickly. I had not experienced very long delays before (Big Sur) but this setting change definitely helped. Also, here is a screenshot of a comment from another topic regarding this, which might help too, in case you don’t already have this setting in your User Preferences. Sorry it is so small. Can’t make my ipad behave.

Such good news — even though it is because of very sad news. Praying that you can be settled again very soon!

@AdamStanislav What a horrible thing to have happen! But thank Heavens the police got to you in time. Perhaps you can find a new place to live permanently?

They also have narrow waists and rounded shoulders. Agree with @Alfred. I like the effect of the upside down ones at the left of the image. If you look steadily at it, it becomes an optical illusion. I also like the colours just as they are.

@v_kyr Please, please don’t leave the forums! You have shared so much wisdom so often and your many beautiful gifts to us all of styles, assets, and “how to’s” are irreplaceable. In these days of world-wide distress with lock-downs, trade disruptions, inflationary turmoil, and war, creating (whether art, photography, or writing) is — or should be — one of the better things for humans to do. It is unfortunate that anyone could misunderstand your posts as “being condescending.” I am certain that so many of us who have learned so much from your explanations would entirely disagree.

@Don Lee Really lovely! I think this is my favorite of everything you have posted so far — in this topic and in your other postings. It is pure magic! -
@Patrick Connor Since the original files were offered at no charge, are we permitted to post these styles files here? Would be glad to do so, with Serif’s permission.

The most important thing is to be sure that you have at least 16GB of memory. The M1's are really wonderful, but Apple was absolutely correct when they advised me to buy my MacBook Pro M1 and the iMac 24" M1 with 16 GB of memory. That is key to the speed and smoothness of these machines. Hope you can find something really nice!

@Don Lee Beautiful! I especially like the shading, color, and movement of the water. -
@Creative-Writer You might like to purchase Publisher directly from the Affinity Store and try it out. There is a 14-day money back guarantee if it doesn’t suit your needs. Personally I love it! I used Pagemaker and then InDesign for years, but when Affinity Publisher arrived I immediately bought it and have never been sorry. If you still have a machine that can use InDesign, you could export any one of your indd InDesign files as an idml file which can be opened in Publisher. Then you can further experiment.
