I have a magic mouse and whenever I hover the pointer over a numeric value field and accidentally touches the scroll part of the mouse the value is instantly changed. This happens all the time for me.

 

I can see two ways to deal with this:

 

1. An option to turn the scroll wheel value change off in preferences.

2. An alteration to the feature so it only works when the field is in edit mode (i.e. when the field is clicked).
