Thorsten Zimmermann reacted to Danel in Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program
Our future is in the hands of big business, which uses its monopoly to submit us as they to they pleases.
It is a gentle descent into a trap . In the long run, it is likely that most software creators will impose subscriptions on customers.
The alternatives are free software, of which Linux is one of the engines.
Affinity is riding the consensual wave because of the too small Linux market; it's a pity; it would be the beginning of a dike bursting.
But one can dream... There are many people who use gimp because they have nothing else.
The low price of affinity is a serious asset.
In the meantime, let's not have too much tenderness towards our supplier, it's only a company that exists to earn money with its products and to support its employees.
It has no feelings; only interests... and that's normal.

"They listened to their users and made EXE-based installers available." EXE-based Installers available, what does that even mean. How about rolling out the software "from the get go" in the same format as Affinity 1.

Long after I got my refund. I paid to have a working program from the get go, not months later. When I asked for my refund they should have notified me that they would be working on a fix, which they did not.
They should have posted a bulleting on this forum letting everyone know that they would fix the issue. Not all this hack utter nonsense that people in here tried to force feed everyone.
If I wanted to download the software now "not even knowing if it would work as it should" I doubt it that they will offer me the initial introductory price.

Thorsten Zimmermann reacted to Aiirik in How to use V2 Publisher with elgato stream deck?
I got a shortcut on my stream deck super easy and doesn't require admin or going into locked files.

    1. Start by clicking the Windows icon and type in "Run" open up the run program and type this in the box: "shell:AppsFolder" without the ".
    2. Then find the apps and right click drag them on the desktop to make a shortcut of them.
    3. I put them in a documents folder where I have other shortcuts... Basically hide it away.

And then in stream deck just find that new shortcut. Works for me. I've done the same thing but with the Xbox app which is how I remembered for this.

    Hope this helps.

Thorsten Zimmermann got a reaction from carl123 in I cannot drag and drop a jpg or png into Affinity Photo V2
    I think I solved it:
It appears to be the filename length.
Files with a filename longer than 256 Chars cannot be dragged and dropped into the v2 Suite, nor can they be opened via Ctrl+O open dialogue.
If you adjust the filename to be shorter than 256 Chars, then files can be drag'n'dropped and also open fine via Ctrl+O.
Of course it would be nice to get this fixes, as those files have long filenames for a reason and truncating the descriptive Filename isn't really an acceptable workaround.

Love the new alert dots in build 128 when an overflowed text frame isn't selected, and the warning if you try to print or export while there is overflowed text in the document - better still in that alert, instead of just 'cancel' would be a list of the guilty pages, with even a 'take me to the first guilty page' button.

Thorsten Zimmermann reacted to Adriandw in Feature request: indicate overflowing text
Same problem - I don't think I have any frames with overflowing text but I get this message.
I'm using a 2-column text frame for the main text.
The problem seems to have started when I added an image frame, and a text frame for the caption (and set the text wrap options to Jump).
