Well, don't get addicted to hopium. 
Many cheap programs lack features, where I naturally think "Of course it doesn't support these professional features", but Affinity is a mess, where suddenly something elementary is missing literally up and down a good and professional feature - and then it makes the program totally unusable. And then you can think what you want about the program; you can't use it anyway.

2 things I really miss coming from Photoshop...
1/ DROP SHADOW  to a layer
 
2/ Why can't there be a simple way to draw a line...
     - just a plane simple straight line from one point to another
     - just a simple freehand line (drawn with your mouse or a pencil on a tablet)
 
I bought the suite, deleted photoshop, like a year ago, but I'm still a novice on Affinity
So I might not know how to do the above, but ... why does it have to be so difficult.. been googling, but even the web or youtube seems to have a simple answer either

First: Thanks for the new version and congrats on the release.
It is not a bug, more an important missing feature: Windows 11 Rounded windows. I think also a design suite should care about UI guidelines. And with V2 i wanted to see rounded Windows 11 corners AND drop shadows of the main windows, it is possible on MacOS too. It is not a gimmik or a joke, it is to separate multiple windows while working. When i work in other graphic software it is nearly impossible to separate and find the Affinity Window. Attached a sample which shows Affinity Photo above Blender. Round Corners is "just" a OS design feature but window shadows and in Windows 11 the light line around the window are important thinks and i would assume that a software which is meant to design UI and other stuff is using this rules.

Is there an update as I have this issue as well (Win 10, all updates installed) and is kinda annoying when searching for files in crowded folders 

If you're looking to access Affinity V2 from another app on Windows - for example, using Affinity Photo V2 as an External Editor in Raw Therapee, you will need to point to the app's execution alias. They can be found here (assuming default installation location):
Affinity Photo V2:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityPhoto2.exe
  Affinity Designer V2:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityDesigner2.exe

Thanks for your report! I can confirm this is a known issue which is logged with our devs for V2 - I'll be sure to 'bump' this report with your post now 

After upgrading to v2, the small icon on the thumbnail in the windows explorer next to the .afphoto files has disappeared. If I have turned off showing file extensions, I don't know which is a .afphoto project and which is a .jpg photo, because both thumbnails are the same. Is it an update or windows problem? Yesterday, before the update, the icons were still there.
The same thing with .afdesign files.

I know you just released v2 and all the old v1 feedback and suggestion forums were removed but I need serif to make a separate feature requests and suggestions forum for each v2 product because this whole forum is about to get messy. Lets get organized. 

Choose Show Group Thumbnails from the Layers panel menu and they will appear

I am just guessing but for the 1.10 release Serif talked about how they spent a lot time improving performance and the underlying code so now going forward I think they will be able to focus on getting features added faster. We will see if this is true in the next few months.

I like the new look, I liked the old look too. They're both good in my book.
Not really having a problem with the change, although I respect the views of those who are if it's causing them problems.

InkScape features a quite decent bitmap autotracer, and is free.

I remember asking a few times every year or so apart about auto trace & got the same 'we are looking at X to make sure'. been a user since the very beginning in the beta stages. really disappointed it still is not a feature
I know many will say 'oh its not a feature everyone uses', blah blah bloody blah.
but thats such a shite deflective argument, since there are many features users dont use within the software, but its still feature

even if its not 100% & I needed to do a bit of editing, id be happy, since updates can tweak out the bugs & make it better thru updates, id be fine with that.
as long as I knew that I could have auto trace & not go from one software for one specific feature, to then bring into designer. I would be super happy.

also thru having it in & it may be buggy, you at least will have people to report back saying 'oh this is a wee bit off, here is my file to test out & I have a screencast to show what's gone wrong'. that helps.
again, having it & working on it is better than completely ignoring it & sending others away because you choose to not talk or say anything about it.

Seriously, I think even the standard asking price BEFORE a discount is a good enough reward.
Some of us remember how much full version upgrades could cost in the days before subscribtion models.
Comparatively this is a fantastic deal - and even new users get to benefit.
 
 

I think it's really sad that some people get so upset by the fact that other people are getting the same great deal that they are being offered!
I don't see any reason why you should expect cheaper (or free!) new software, just because you've been using an old version of it for a while!

I think the 40% discount is more than fair. Even if that's for everybody. Not rewarding v1 users is understandable for them to keep an attractive price for everyone with no subscription.

Well, you can get a 40% discount right now, right? It is fair price for an upgrade. The only thing is that the discount is not privileged only to existing users but it is for everybody (including newcomers). I actually do not care if I am the only who gets the discount or everybody gets it  Or am I missing something?

If you're referring to those fine white lines, try disabling Hardware Acceleration (OpenCL) in Photo. Edit > Preferences, then switch to the Performance section, and you'll find that option near the bottom of the list.

Are you kidding?  It is 2022 already and NONE of the Affinity products have implemented a telepathic remote control for the speed of the fans inside of microwave ovens...  SERIOUSLY?
 
For you it is multi-page spreads.  For some it is right-to-left language support, or footnotes and endnotes, or cross-references, or the ability to make editable PDFs or various eBook formats, vector mesh warp, support for variable/color fonts, or more highly compressed raster export formats for use on web sites...
 
First off, these are feature REQUESTS - we are asking for them - that does not mean that Serif is under any obligation to implement any of them, ever.
 
Serif has been gradually implementing things that people are asking for, but they do need to prioritize and they may not always even agree with some of what people are asking for.  Some features simply take time to implement and they can't do it all at once.  There were comments in other threads already that they have tried to bring more developers on board to help speed some of these things up but that they have a hard time finding qualified people where they are located.

Are we still waiting for this after 5 years?

I've just switched from Illustrator, I love your app guys, but, as stated before in this thread, envelope distort / warp is really an essential tool for any graphic designer working on brand / whatever... 
How come you still haven't released this?? Seems like a very bad choice or maybe a big technical problem that you can't resolve?
