MagicOfIllustration got a reaction from TrentL in Affinity Designer - How To Create A Casual Video Game Logo (Suited for Beginners)
I made an tutorial on how to make a simple text logo. (Suited for Beginners) Explanations are mainly intended for Affinity Designer, but almost all the techniques I use are also available in Affinity Photo. This video uses some of the following techniques: - Separating a text into separate letters. - Using layer effects to create a bevel, gradient overlay, drop shadow and outline. - Create a background for the logo with the contour tool. It's my first tutorial video, I hope it's useful to someone. -

A simple but cool movie. Your voice is clear, which is important in instructional videos, and the steps when creating logo are easy to repeat.
Games graphic is not my thing, but I enjoyed watching your video. I hope this isn't your last one.

MagicOfIllustration reacted to donka in Android version please
Would love the Affinity suite on Android tablets, especially the Samsung Galaxy Tab range which I now much prefer over the iPad. Those big, beautiful screens and included S-Pen. Would be a winning combination.

I Agree, this would be a very welcome feature. It would not even have to do everything other animation tools can. Just tracking a few things in key frames would be a great addition, like Position, Scale, Rotation and opacity would be enough for a lot of simple animations. You don't need to track every point in a curve object, if you just track the objects or groups properties it would be enough.
If it needs to be a separate product I would be more than happy to pay for it. I've tried Synfig and Open toonz but they do not import the drawings from Affinity Designer correctly. Even if I try to copy the drawing to inkscape and then export it, the tools can not handle gradients correctly. Maybe After effects of Toon boom would correctly import the drawings but they are just to expensive for the tasks I need them for.

I agree, this would be a great option to have a similar program as Adobe After Effects as demonstrated on YouTube ' Affinity designer and After Effects'

MagicOfIllustration got a reaction from RNKLN in Affinity Photo: Brush window improvements
It would be nice if the brush window could have a few improvements.
1. Show the name of the brush in the list of the brushes. Now I need to hover over the brush to see the name in the tooltip. It would be nice to be able to have a setting to choose if the name should be visible in the list, it could be shown under the brush or the brush preview could be changes to show only a dot of the brush and the name next to it.
2. Other list styles for the brush list. This is a little bit like the first point in both cases it's about how the brushes are displayed in the list. It would be nice to have an option for smaller brush previews or maybe even multiple columns or a grid layout for the brush list. Now I need to scroll a lot trough the brush list if a category has a lot of brushes.
3. Change the order of the brush categories. If I add new brushes or create new categories I would like to be able to sort the categories. Now it seems to be fixed to the order in which you added the categories, which gets a bit messy after a while. The only solution I can think of at the moment would be to clear the list and re-add the categories. Which is a lot of work, so a simple way to change the order would be very helpful.
