  1. I Can export them separately but it's being used in a software product, rendering a color dodge blend mode takes much more processing power than normal blending. Therefor I would like to avoid using that in real time. I Think I will have to rethink how I'm creating this image and maybe I will need to recreate the effect in a different way. That being said. I Don't understand why if I put a solid black background layer in my group and a mask on the group. That the resulting image is difference when I rasterize the group.
  2. Because it gives white parts in the result image. I Will show you what happens in the image I'm working on: With passtrough (the way I want the clouds to look like) With group set to normal: For the project I'm working on I would like to export the black background with the stars and the purple clouds in two separate images. But I can not do this because I can not export the clouds the way I want to.
  3. Yes I've been playing with it a bit more and I think this is might just be a technical limitation. I Think it is because I'm using a black background and when rasterizing the app uses white for premultiplied alpha calculations. I Tried a different approach to get the result that I want but I run into issues with that as well. To try to get a nice transparent rasterized layer from the group with the correct colors I tried this. - Put the black background into the group, this way it has a solid black background to rasterize. - But I needed the transparency so I added a mask on the group. This looked good, however when I rasterized the group the end result has a different transparency compared to the mask of my group.
  4. Version used: 1.7.3.481 I Tried to rasterize a group that contained a layer that is set to color dodge. I Expected the group to be rasterized exactly like it was when it was still a group, however the end result looks different from when it was grouped. The result can also be seen if you merge down the color dodge layer. (Example file in the attachment) Click on the group and select rasterize for the issue I'm talking about. color dodge example.afphoto
  5. Using Affinity Designer v1.7 for Windows. I Found this out because I dragged the navigation panel by accident and wanted to undo the dragging. I Started out with the navigation panel docked, then I started dragging the panel. I Think this only works if the blue docking hover box is visible. Keep the panel in drag mode by keeping the mouse pressed and then press esc. The panel now docks but you can no longer click anything in the application. It might also work for other panels but I only tested it with the navigation panel.
  6. I Agree, this would be a very welcome feature. It would not even have to do everything other animation tools can. Just tracking a few things in key frames would be a great addition, like Position, Scale, Rotation and opacity would be enough for a lot of simple animations. You don't need to track every point in a curve object, if you just track the objects or groups properties it would be enough. If it needs to be a separate product I would be more than happy to pay for it. I've tried Synfig and Open toonz but they do not import the drawings from Affinity Designer correctly. Even if I try to copy the drawing to inkscape and then export it, the tools can not handle gradients correctly. Maybe After effects of Toon boom would correctly import the drawings but they are just to expensive for the tasks I need them for.
  7. Thanks. I Think that what should happen is that after the drag the selection should always be on the correct brush. Either this is the brush that was selected before dragging or the dragged brush should get selected. Myself I personally would go for the last option, activating the brush that you have just dragged.
  8. I Noticed a little issue with the brush window in Affinity Photo 1.6.1.93. I Was using my tablet and selecting my brushes and sometimes the brush did not change. I Found out that if a brush is being moved a little bit the brush does get a selected color but the application does not actually select the brush. To reproduce this bug make sure you have a category with multiple brushes selected. Then select any brush. Now try to select an other brush but while selecting the brush move the selected brush in the list a little bit to activate the drag drop sorting function. Do not actually move the brush to an other position in the list but just let go of the mouse button. You will see that the window not has the other brush selected but the brush setting are still from the previous selected brush. This behavior is a little bit annoying because when I use the tablet pen I easily activate the drag drop without knowing I did so. The brush looks to be selected while actually the previous brush is still active.
  9. Yes sure. I'm working on some brushes. What I did was scan a paper with those points. I Scanned it on 600 dpi. Then opened the bmp in Affinity Photo. Selected the dots I wanted to work with and copied it in a new document. (The document I attached) In the new document I then duplicated the pasted layer and made the original invisible. Then I used the flood erase tool to remove the white background. After that I started copying the dots like described in this topic and ran into the issue. The strange thing is that if you use the flatten copy option. CTRL + SHIFT + C. It will work
  10. Awesome. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that layer has transparent parts in it, or maybe because the file has two layers. Hopefully you can fix it in the next update.
  11. Yes that was what I thought at first too. But if I select the move tool on the pasted layer there is no blue box showing. I Tried zooming out really far to see if it was out of the working area but it does not show any blue box anywhere in that empty layer. There is an other way to show you that the layer is really empty. If I follow the steps I described and in stead of pasting the second layer in the new document, I tried using the new document from clipboard. When I do this it shows this error. Now you really need to move the selection for the second time you copy something to get this error. If you make a new selection it will copy correctly. So you need to. Make a selection. Copy with the keyboard shortcut CTRL + C. Then move the selection by dragging it to a new place. And then use the CTRL + C shortcut again. This time the clipboard is empty. I Tried this with the new update 1.6.1.93 and the problem still exists. I've attached the afphoto file I used in this topic so you can try it out yourself with that file. dot25mm scan.afphoto
  12. I Just downloaded new update 1.6.1.93 and the rounding errors in the brush window seem to be fixed. I Still have a weird rounding error in the resize document dialog though. The strange thing is that if I create a new document of 600 dpi it correctly shows the DPI setting in the resize document as 600 dpi. But if I open my scanned document which I had scanned on 600 dpi it shows it as 599,999. If I open that file in MS Paint and view the document properties it shows it at the correct 600 dpi value.
  13. It would be nice if the brush window could have a few improvements. 1. Show the name of the brush in the list of the brushes. Now I need to hover over the brush to see the name in the tooltip. It would be nice to be able to have a setting to choose if the name should be visible in the list, it could be shown under the brush or the brush preview could be changes to show only a dot of the brush and the name next to it. 2. Other list styles for the brush list. This is a little bit like the first point in both cases it's about how the brushes are displayed in the list. It would be nice to have an option for smaller brush previews or maybe even multiple columns or a grid layout for the brush list. Now I need to scroll a lot trough the brush list if a category has a lot of brushes. 3. Change the order of the brush categories. If I add new brushes or create new categories I would like to be able to sort the categories. Now it seems to be fixed to the order in which you added the categories, which gets a bit messy after a while. The only solution I can think of at the moment would be to clear the list and re-add the categories. Which is a lot of work, so a simple way to change the order would be very helpful.
  14. Can I install the beta version together with the release version or do I need to uninstall the release version first?
