We are here because of the affinity pricing model Kill this pricing model and kill your user base. But your going to do it anyway and pretend that will be different somehow. Adobe has massive feature set for its subscription that Affinity can't compete with Canva has nothing to offer me . It's obvious what's going to happen, and gushy executive mailouts just destroy our trust a bit faster. I need to plan a business. I'm tired of this corporate BS, causing perpetual chaos.

I'm having random 'file opened as read only' errors . I never had this issue with V1. I don't lock files in windows . So Affinity is doing something to the files on load. I've been experimenting with embedding and linking affinity photo files so it may be a bug with this feature in v2

https://vfxplatform.com/linux/ so vfx companies mostly use Linux according to a survey done by VES (the visual effects society. ) there’s a pdf with recommendations on Linux builds (commissioned because CentOS is end of life ) while I understand that making affinity cross platform in Linux as well would be a massive pain for the developers, it is a shame because there few options for high end paint work under Linux

I agree it would extremely helpful if i could create custom metadata for export with Affinity designer.

It seems to be a problem with affinity loading 16bit float exrs. When the image is exported after painting it becomes roughly 50% larger , the extra size is padded with black. I'll need to go through my old projects to find an example. the Images are under an NDA so i'd need to give you a private link

Under windows 10 using affinity photo 1.8.3.641 .exr exports from affinity photo are the wrong size and padded with black. As a pro matte painter working in linear colour with affinity would be amazing but it needs to be reliable. My round trip is blackmagic fusion to affinity photo and back to blackmagic fusion. Opening the linear float Exr in affinity and painting is fine. The affinity photo export dialog shows the correct size However on opening the exported image ( in fusion nuke or affinity) it is much larger. The borders of the original image are padded with Extra pixels. The same issue is seen with the mac OS Clearly it's not an issue with Nuke, Fusion or the operating system. since the bug has been seen on different platforms and afftiny also fails to load the image correctly after export.

it feels to me like the default Affinity pressure sensitivity is way way too soft. Even the lightest pressure produces a really heavy line. I basically have to max out the hardness in my wacom settings . Then max out the hardness in affinity as well with a crazy custom curve. With all this i can finally get a gentle airbrush effect using light pressure on my wacom pen. In photoshop a light pressure on my pen produces a barely visible stroke on the image. It seems crazy that I need to do all this to set it up in AP. It also means all the default AP brushes are way to heavy to use and I basically have to start again. Can i suggest some sort of global setting for dynamic pressure to allow artist to quickly configure AP to taste ?
