Harold78, I have the same opinion. Since iPadOS 16, the iPad has underexploited potential with the management of an external screen. The iPad can finally compete with the Mac, the opportunity is too good. Please don't miss this. 🙏🏻

Yes please to contemporary and actual support for an external monitor as OP desires. I truly thought that Serif would fix this in one of the first updates of v2.x because it's so fundamentally necessary, and such a great advantage when having an iPad.
For the same reason, I don't really use my iPad Pro for Affinity Designer, but continuously discover good alternatives. It's a critical deficiency that Serif's competitors must love Serif for. Especially because we can't even be sure if it will come or arrive before 2030. It could determine whether one chooses Affinity or an iPad, if one is an Affinity user.

I am ready to drop adobe. The prices just went up to $69+ a month. I want to use the affinity products on my iPad but external monitor support with stage manager is absolutely necessary. When will this be available for all 3 apps?

Errr.. appreciate your comments but my tone is purposefully playful ..I am a customer after all and I've purchased the full set of AF apps twice.
AF is a fantastic alternative to Adobe's absurd price. This is absolutely not in dispute and we love AF for that reason.
However, so many users have been asking for this incredibly simple function for so long - we thought from the marketing this was a stated feature in v2. It's like the coders/management either misunderstood or overlooked we were specifically asking for 'export'.
To truly be the Adobe killer, we all want, these very basic functions must be included. Please AF 🙏

I’m afraid I have to agree with the concerns posted above.  There is, at the very least, the appearance of failure to communicate with Serif’s user base.  I’ve learned that when I fail to communicate, I get results I don’t want.
Right now I have documented issues with Designer on both MacBook and iPad, and I can tell from forum posts I’m not the only one.
Please Serif, fix the bugs, and communicate some sort of priority ranking for those you do decide to fix.

Paying customers tend to "rant" when their feedback or reporting of persistent issues appear to get ignored. 

I think it’s a fair question. What are the developers doing? Do they not have a team dedicated to the iOS apps?
We have many bugs being reported again and again. Often the same bug reported multiple times because there is no user accessible concise numbered list of reported bugs. Many reports are 'bumped' by Mods to try and get some action going with developers. Again no feedback to indicate bumping has actually resulted in the bug getting some attention.  
There does not 'appear' to be a 'process' for prioritising action to fix reported bugs. I’m guessing that there must be some sort of process, but if so it lacks communication of progress to end users and, I suspect mods are just as in the dark as us when it comes to what is being fixed.  
Updates and releases don’t provide a full list of fixes either. Worse still, some updates reintroduce previously 'fixed' bugs. 
From a users perspective, many basic feature requests made over the past few years continue to be completely ignored. 
I’d say 'all in all, development for iOS has always appeared to be a bit of a dogs breakfast', and yes, that might indeed be considered ranting 😂.

The purposed is to import a SVG into a SolidWorks sketch, which requires DXF or DWG. Luckily I actually own a copy of Adobe Illustrator and I already have the work around...
The dumb part is that my old copy of Adobe Illustrator CS6 causes problems with my monitor calibration, and my entire monitor starts to flicker as soon as I run it, so I really don't like running it.
Inkscape also works but that's a last resort.
I really just want Affinity Designer to add DXF and DWG. I work with lasers, water jet, and die cutters frequently. Come on, feature parity with Adobe pretty much requires DXF + DWG import and export.

.dxf file type support would add a completely new industry to this app. I know people have asked for it for years and it feels absurd to ask for anything from a company that made the majority of professional vector illustration accessible to everyone when Adobe was trying to guard it, so if we never get it, Affinity will always have my heart. But it does feel like a huge door opens up when you add the ability to import and export .dxf.

Would love to have DXF and DWG import and export. Using Onshape--very cool parametric 3D CAD cloud app. It now can import DXF and DWG. Would love to be able to export some of y logo designs to Onshape so I can model my logos in 3D and output them to my 3D printer.

Some users already requested support for DXF and/or DWG files.
We are considering adding support for these kind of files in the future.

I fully understand why the roadmap was removed, but currently all affinity users are completely in the dark, this means they need to maintain subscriptions to adobe / others in order to use the tools they want, and they have to do so not knowing when / if Serif will ever implement feature X/Y

Essentially the roadmap should only be Key tools / features and should be a "this is what we are working on next" and it will be released when it is ready - rather than this feature will be released in version 1.x.x 

this could be done in the form of a dev blog of sorts - (common in the opensource community e.g godot dev blog)
To check in with the teams showing the community what serif is hard at work doing - because we know you are, we just have no clue what on - the only current way to see anything is to daily spam and check the beta thread - but even then that doesn't tell us about what's going on on the dev side for each app, I realise this is not open source, and there is proprietary and sensitive information that you may not want to share, but a little bit of info a teaser and a rough explanation of a concept might be cool. a lot of the things that Serif is doing already exists in a similar way - but maybe not as cool,

so for example lets say you were adding a filter type (before we knew what live filters were) you don't have to explain / show off the live side of the filter just, this week we are talking to Tim , he is part of the Photo Team and recently has been working on various ways to implement gaussian blur  - cue some maths and a rough explanation of what he has been up to maybe with an animated gif / video of examples.

I personally really like the Affinity Suite for a lot of reasons - but there are gripes about certain missing features / odd behaviours, if you check the forums there a LOT of threads about the same issues, with a lot of community support for implementation. e.g vector transform / perspective or DXF import / export.

without the implementation of plugins so people can program workarounds / or 3rd party solutions external from the affinity workflow I think a Roadmap (non encompassing and without hard promises) or a Dev blog showing what features are being developed internally (even if just a tease) would help the community to get behind the team more rather than just complaining it may also serve the purpose of allowing users to make decisions about what adobe licence to purchase length wise, if you know a tool is being developed and is "almost ready to go"  then perhaps that renewal of the Creative cloud can be skipped this month. it also would allow for some live feedback and comments to do with ui / implementation of said tool prior to being included in a beta.

I wish Affinity would throw us a bone and give us at least the slightest clue when Publisher for iPad will be ready to go, -- soon? this year? next year? a hundred years?

We don't have a timeframe on when Publisher will be released on iPad, when we do we'll make announcements on our social channels.

When will Publisher App be available on iPad Pro?

I'm attempting to do a 2 monitor setup on my ipad pro.  The screen mirroring works, but what I would like to be able to do is something similar to what procreate allows for in their screen projection setting.  so I can see the entire canvas on the external monitor without the ui while zoomed in and working an area on the ipad.  Is this doable or is there a setting I'm not finding somewhere to allow for this?

I have this sometimes too especially if the network share loses connectivity for a bit. (but it was designer on Windows)
 
I can see why an error message is needed if it cant save, but SERIOUSLY, forcibly closing the document is NOT the right way to go about it, rather spawn a save as dialog.

Thank you for your help. It was a new install of the most recent beta and a newly created document. I will restart my Mac and try again. It’s not an urgent matter, I just wanted to let the Affinity Publisher team beware of the issue.

But did you try to restart Publisher and try this in a newly created document?
