Android?
firstdefence replied to Transrobotism's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I owned Android for 6 years including a Samsung Tocca and a Samsung Note. The Tocca took awesome images and even survived being chucked off of my van at 50mph and then run over by an 18 wheel Articulated lorry unscathed, I couldn't believe it The lack of App space (Not total space) was a royal PIA having to remove apps to put more on was just tedious. Also a lot of the apps were poorly designed or just didn't work properly, there were some good apps but it was very hit and miss. Lag was a big issue and the device got choked up very quickly, constantly having to clear caches, moving "bits" of an app to an external Micro SD was also very messy, if you wanted basic common-sense functionality you had to jailbreak the device. If I had to sum up Android now, it would be "Messy, clumsy and laggy." Maybe things have improved a bit but I much prefer iPhone. -

I did, its called Hackintosh and it's surprisingly easy if you have the right hardware, I ran OS X on a PC for 4 years until the motherboard died but up until then it ran way better than windows ever did. Then I got an actual Apple Mac. -
Create a custom brush. Use the Pencil Tool to draw a rough shape. drag a guide out and place it roughly in the middle of the shape so you get a feel for how the stroke will be applied Tweak the nodes with the Node Tool (A) Now Export it as a png file no background and remember where you saved it Now go to the Brushes Panel and Create a New Category then Rename the New Category Now create a New Textured Image Brush and import that shape you exported Apply it to the shape and tweak the brushes settings You may have to create multiple brushes to get it right but at least you learn a new skill and will have brushes galore lol!

@MEB Can you take a look at this EPS file, It opens fine in Illustrator and as a workaround I've saved it as an .ai file for sparvu and it opens fine as an .ai file but it opens as an EPS in Affinity very poorly. Sparvu can send you the file. @sparvu I've deleted all the files I've downloaded and made but at least you have a working file, while you wait to see if MEB can help work out why this EPS file is behaving as it is.

Sub forums have been mentioned a few times, including me asking. You could add tags or start the Title of your posts with whichever app you are referring too, i.e the acronyms so an example would be: "APh: I need help with nodes" Affinity Photo (APh) Affinity Designer (ADe) Affinity Publisher (APu) < This one is for later when it is eventually released and is the reason the acronyms have 3 letters, so as not to get confused between photo and publisher. Also don't forget to let people know your Operating System. An even better idea is to put these things into your signature, which you will find under your "Account Settings" -
Looks like you have a design that likes playing hide & seek lol! It looks like there are no strokes or fills applied, the fact you can highlight your design shows it exists but until a stroke or fill is applied it is effectively invisible. it can help to attach files to the post so we can take a look for ourselves.

What Operating System are you using? Mac? The canvas cannot be locked, a layer can, but the canvas will still move. The reason for the moving canvas becomes apparent when you zoom into an image, having a Canvas locked would not allow you to move around the image in a zoomed state. You could try reducing the sensitivity of the mouse/trackpad.

I like Toltecs way, kind of neater if you are working on more complex shapes or multiple shapes. There are quite a few ways to do this using the geometry tool, Toltecs use of grids is neat. Actually a hybrid idea could be used... video coming... @toltec I put a hex on you so I could post first hahaha!
