  1. SVG code can be written differently by different apps, just download a few SVG files and open with a text editor and you will se the code looks different. It would help if you shared the design file and also told us which apps open the SVG improperly. I've just created the same graphic and saved using File > Export... > SVG for export: Test.svg Try this with your apps. This is the code for the test.svg... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <!DOCTYPE svg PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD SVG 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/1.1/DTD/svg11.dtd"> <svg width="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 337 337" version="1.1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xml:space="preserve" xmlns:serif="http://www.serif.com/" style="fill-rule:evenodd;clip-rule:evenodd;stroke-linecap:round;stroke-linejoin:round;stroke-miterlimit:1.5;"> <g transform="matrix(1,0,0,1,-121.456,-219.255)"> <circle cx="289.793" cy="387.591" r="158.337" style="fill:rgb(235,235,235);stroke:black;stroke-width:20px;"/> <g transform="matrix(1,0,0,1,-1.18441,10.5)"> <path d="M189.662,357.612L392.293,357.612" style="fill:none;stroke:black;stroke-width:20px;stroke-linecap:butt;"/> </g> <path d="M349.154,368.112C351.168,374.243 352.257,380.791 352.257,387.591C352.257,422.066 324.268,450.055 289.793,450.055C255.318,450.055 227.329,422.066 227.329,387.591C227.329,380.791 228.418,374.243 230.431,368.112L349.154,368.112Z" style="fill:rgb(235,235,235);stroke:black;stroke-width:20px;stroke-linejoin:miter;"/> </g> </svg>
  2. The second composition is much better. I like the painterly effect too.
  3. As far as I know there is no keyboard shortcut to scroll through the layers or toggle between layers. Try locking the Dust & Scratches Live Filter Layer
  4. Welcome to the forum. What king of image are you talking about? Can you upload an example?
  5. You also have colour issues, look at the sky left and right of the post. To re-align these misalignments you need to be able to edit control points which, unfortunately, would take you out of Affinity and into a dedicated Panorama App. That app would allow you to preview and the edit control points used to stitch the images together.
  6. Create a black square Select the font for your name Type "Eric Weber" Select font for Studio Type "Studio"
  7. Out of curiosity, select another tool and use it like, say, the Rectangle Tool, then select the brush tool and try to paint.
  8. Morning William, within the export settings of affinity you can tell the SVG export to convert text to curves.
  9. Could you upload the SVG for someone to look at or open the SVG is a text editor to show the code and paste the code here? Untitled.svg Example code from SVG above: try converting the text to curves, if it isn't already.
  10. Just tried this in GIMP and it behaves as PaintShop Pro (PSP) does in Rectangular to Polar and as Photoshop does in Polar to Rectangular. I like Gimps filter window and to a lesser extent Photoshops approach to the polar filter, being able to see a preview and flip between settings is a nice feature that Affinity should have, instead of having two separate filters with no controls.
  11. From the Export Persona. Found in Affinity Help The Export persona is a dedicated workspace for exporting artboards, layers, groups, and objects as export slices to different file formats and image sizes simultaneously. You'll also be able to export custom drawn slices. How it works The Export Persona uses a combination of panels and tools to create slices. Slices are export areas which you choose to output from your document. The Layers panel, Export Options panel and Slices panel are used in combination in Export Persona. A Slice Tool is a unique tool in Export Persona which is used to create custom slices. Using the Layers panel The Layers panel is different from the Layers panel in Draw Persona. It is used exclusively as a precursor for selecting artboards, layers, groups, or objects from which slices can be created, and added to the Slices panel. When you export a Layers panel item as a slice, the slice will automatically size to what is considered to be the extent of the selected item. A circle symbol at the top right of the slice indicates that it is auto-sized. If you choose to resize the slice, the symbol changes to a square, indicating that the slice has been modified. A resized slice created from a Layers panel item can be reset to 'auto-sized' at any point. Using the Export Options panel The Export Options panel lets you set up your default export settings, or settings for the currently selected item prior to slice creation. Using the Slices panel The Slices panel stores all your slices (from the Layers panel or Slice Tool) ready for export directly from the panel. Each created slice has an initial export format (e.g., PNG, JPG, or SVG) associated with it on creation, with additional export formats being added per slice if needed; each export format lets you export at different size scaling or absolute sizes. You can use the filenames in the Slices panel to specify (or create) a folder hierarchy in which to place your exported files. This is achieved through the use of the forward slash, or oblique, character. For example, a PNG hero image could be placed within an img folder within an assets folder using the following syntax: assets/img/hero If any part of the folder structure does not exist, the folder hierarchy will be created when the appropriate slices are exported using Export Slices (n). You can export the entire document's page using File>Export or by selecting the predefined spread area on the Slices panel. Using the Slice Tool The Slice Tool gives you full freedom to create export areas of all sizes, over any part of your document. The Force Pixel Alignment option on the Toolbar, when selected, will ensure your slices snap to full pixels when created, moved or modified. To set default export options: On the Export Options panel, select the Defaults tab. Adjust settings as appropriate. Jump back to the Selection tab when finished. The settings will be used when your next slice is created. To export an area of the document as an image: Do one of the following: On the Layers panel, select an artboard, layer, group or object and click Create Slice. With the Slice Tool selected, drag on your page to define your export area. Do one of the following: On the Export Options panel, adjust export settings as appropriate. Jump to the Slices panel, expand the slice entry and alter the export format or choose an Export preset from the pop-up menu (PNG, JPEG, and Apple icon design presets only). (Optional) On the Slices panel, click the + icon under the export format entry to add an additional graphic export format. (Optional) On the Slices panel, click the indented + icon under the export size entries to add increasing levels of resolution (2x, 3x, etc.) to the export format. Do one of the following, to control what gets exported: Select Click to export all formats for this item. Select Click to export this size. This exports a specific export format for a slice at a specific size. Click Export Slices (n) to export all formats and sizes for all checked slices in the Slices panel. Navigate to and select the storage folder for the exported image(s) and then click Export. (Optional) On the Slices panel, select Continuous if you want to automatically re-export export areas if the document is subsequently changed. This option is only available if Export Slices (n) was selected above.
  12. Grid of squares canvas size 100mm x 100mm Squares 25mmx25mm I get a different effect from you on Polar to Rectangular, this is a "Group" of squares - no border: ...and with no border and Rectangular to Polar I get: This is a merged visible layer. Note: Photoshop behaves like Affinity.
  13. I was half right, Whatever method for colour selection is used in Colour Chooser from the dropdown menu, will be the name allocated to the colour when added to the swatches palette
  14. Depends what you have below the Swatches panel, if you have a panel that only takes up a small amount of space the swatches panel will remain large (length wise) and the panel below will stay seated to the bottom. There is; for me, an annoying behaviour with Panels whereby the Panels do not remember their dimensions i..e. how they have been set. An example of this is: Have the Swatches Panel at the top Below the Swatches Panel, have the Colour Panel and the Assets Panel. Click on the Assets Panel and scale it up so the Swatches Panel is smaller. Now switch to the Colour Panel, you cannot make the Colour Panel Larger. Switch back to the Assets Panel. The Assets Panel adopts the position of the Colour Panel instead of retaining its location. set previously. By rights, the Assets Panel should remember where it was set but it doesn't and this makes resizing Panels a bit of a moot point. Preferences > Miscellaneous > Reset Fills I don't think so, there is no Hex Sliders option and the tooltip will show whatever slider option is selected, I could be wrong.
  15. Are the tiffs exported as 16Bit? Might also be an idea to ask the author of Sequator what settings are appropriate for export to Sequator from Affinity Photo, he can download the trial and advise.
  16. Yes, use the image as a trace, lock the layer and start creating. Practice and experimenting is all part of the learning curve. Even the great artists had to start somewhere and were novices at some point. have a go and have fun, it will all click together at some point.
  17. Do you think we have gone off topic again lol, anyway, I vote for Phil to have a whole body wax you can't get a good marble overlay with Barracuda chest hair.
