  1. Hi. I see this issue hasn't been addressed in the new update. Please tell me this isn't being overlooked/ignored? It's an absolute nightmare and adds a lot of wasted time and hassle to my workflow. regards, Ash
  2. Since I know this is a bug thought I'd better post this here since for some reason it's started again. App's losing focus causing mouse-over issues and menu options to be greyed out. As stated in the other post the only change to my system is the updating of Safari. Absolutely nothing else has changed or been installed.
  3. I'm not sure how but this problem is back. I'm having the exact same issue as before. The inability to copy/paste etc and the menu greyed out after simply switching to another app and back. The only thing that has changed on my system is a Safari update I installed yesterday.
  4. I take that back. I am indeed able to do it when I follow instructions properly. lol Very much appreciated. Thank you for your help.
  5. Thank you, Ron. That does indeed work for add layer. Appreciated. But I'm unable to get it to work for the recently introduced "new layer" feature.
  6. Just a thought, you're not pressing the equivalent of "alt" (Start? shows up as the windows key on my multi keyboard) on Mac and the curve/object within the layers panel as that'll hide everything else.
  7. Hi, Ron, thanks but no. I'm wanting to control where the new layer is positioned within the layers panel.
  8. Hi, the recently added feature, within Designer, to create a new layer, with selected items, has finally got me asking the question that I've long contemplated... Is there any way to control where a new layer is created within the Layers Panel? I was excited at the new feature till I found, like "add Layer", the new layer of collected items will relocate outside of any layer you're working in. This can be an absolute nightmare trying to position it back where it should be, So basically is the any way I can make "add layer" or "new layer" appear directly above a currently selected curve or object? regards, Ash.
  9. Perhaps just stick with the original and keep it a painted white wall. It'll work nicer with the teal.
  10. The latest update (which has some great new features) seems to have solved part of this issue. Items are now able to be copied after switching to another app and back. However the mouse-over issue, for me, is still a problem. Same as before this happens when switching to another application then back. 1. I had the pen tool selected when switching out. 2. Upon switching back I press "v" to select the move tool and the toolbar and info panel, at the bottom, all show this change has happened yet, as you can see in the screenshot, the icon remains showing the pen tool's image. 3. I have to interact with something before the icon will correct itself. regards, Ash
  11. Just a further update. This issue is indeed what's causing the mouse-over problem I've been encountering. regards, Ash.
  12. Thank you, Dan. No Problem. As always, I appreciate the help. Regards, Ash.
  13. Hi, I'm Running Mac 13.4.1 on a new Mac M2. To switch apps I use Command Tab. (I only used the Menu and Toolbar in the screen recording for the example. usually I solely rely on keyboard shortcuts. Hence why it took me a while to realise the menu options were missing. I had Magnet Running. But I just disabled it starting at login and restarted the system without it and it's still happening. The only other things I use at Login are: Karabiner Elements to gain another Keystroke set for Designer. Also disabled with no change to the issue. Alfred. Again, disabled with same issue. LogiOptions+. Uninstalled and same issue. Typinator. Again, have disabled and same issue. Others things I’ve thought of but have been able to dismiss are Mac’s Screen Zoom and Hover Text. Other than those I can't think of anything I'm running. I am now wondering if this is also what's causing my mouseover issues since the focus doesn't seem to be on the page. Which might account for the mouse icon not knowing what state it's meant to be in.
  14. Hi, Malcolm. Do you not see the specific window, you've minimised, on the right hand of the Dock?
  15. Hi Dan, Since that post I've narrowed it down, but not to the cause. It's simply switching to other applications, or the finder, that causes it. And to get the menu options back I have to click on the tool bar again. This only happens while using Designer in Fullscreen mode. Also, I've tested this in Photo (being in fullscreen mode) and it's not happening on that. I've included a screen recording. Hope it helps. Screen Recording 2023-08-25 at 6.19.13 am.mov
  16. Strange how things happen... ok, further to above, I've just noticed it's happening when I'm switching to other applications and back. In case it makes any difference Designer v2 is in Fullscreen mode whereas my other apps aren't.
  17. I'm occasionally having an issue whereupon a curve/ object I have selected is unable to be copied. Keystroke (Command C) produces an error sound, the Edit menu is mostly greyed out, except Duplicate. I have to manually click on another object in a different parent layer then back in order for the copy ability to be re-enabled. For some reason clicking on items in the same parent Layer doesn't help. I've checked it's not that I have anything other than the Move tool selected while trying, as I'm still having terrible trouble with the correct mouse-over icons appearing. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
  18. No problem. Thanks for looking into it for me. Regards, Ash
  19. For me, when I move the pointer back onto the canvas, unlike your example, the very first object I selected will remain the highlighted item. I can select multiple items thereafter but the highlight won't change. It will remain that way until I switch out of colour picker. Thereupon the highlight will move to the correctly selected object.
  20. Thanks for confirming this isn't just me. And yes, it's rather confusing as your eyes are automatically drawn to the highlighted area then somewhere else changes instead. Although on my Mac I'm finding it doesn't correct itself. Not even when the pointer is returned to the canvas. Thanks, Ash.
  21. Hi, I'm still having major issues with the cursor not changing on mouse-over events, so I'm not sure if this is related or an intentional feature, or just happening to me? If I've selected a curve/object, with either the move or node tool, switch to colour picker, and then select another curve in the layers panel (whilst remaining in colour picker mode), the selection indicator stays on the previously selected curve/object rather than to any newly selected curves/objects. Is this an intentional feature? regards, Ash.
  22. After some further testing I'd just like to verify I was incorrect. This does indeed happen on v1. Apologies.
  23. Thanks for getting back. It is indeed a very complex document with probably 100s of thousands of layers. So although that trouble layer appears to have no direct link, without it the layer above looks incorrect. I might try reverse masking to see if that could possibly solve it but my main issue is it's not a problem I ever had in v1. That was able to handle it fine. The entire document was done in v1 I'm only now coming back to make a few alterations and finding several key areas where, for me, v1 is better than v2. My issue going forward, if there's no solution, is I'm going to have to decide if I can still use v2 as with the complexity of my work those lines could cause colour/image anomalies. Either way, thanks for looking.
