Dimensions Lines are critical to so many industries.
Please add them. You already have the ability to measure which is handy.
You already have the ability to draw a line.
Why can't we have a line display it's length?

Well, in V2 there is a tool for taking measurements but just for measuring on screen - no dimension lines with values appear like in Corel Draw though - better than nothing but I am missing those dimension lines like there which even update the values when the object in question is scaled    
 
 
in V2 gibt es ein Messwerkzeug zum Messen auf der Arbeitsfläche, nur keine Bemaßungslinie, die die Werte des verknüpften Objekts beim Skalieren auch noch aktualisiert - mindestens habe ich soetwas nicht gefunden. Das Messen ist schon mal ein Fortschritt, aber trotzdem vermisse ich die Bemaßungslinien.

No, Affinity Designer doesn't have tools/facilities for this. It may be considered for future updates but for now you have to create them manually, sorry.

Is there a measurement tool?? I have V2 and can't find it.
For those that don't get what people are asking for I suggest looking at Foxit pdf Editor which has an excellent tool, Although personally I prefer the older version to the one in the latest release. Either way it does the job, any point to point can be measured, any scale can be set and the dimension is available on screen in editable format alongside the doouble headed arrow (which is also editable). Excellent.
Some examples below:

The capability of adding the Measurement Tool output to a drawing would be very useful for technical drawings. Having Live measurements attached to objects would be even better. 

I create technical text documents and not always there is an initial CAD-file. Sometimes we make simple drawings right into Designer. Just having the dimension feature would be a nice addition. Canvas Draw has it in a more CAD manner, but even tiny Graphics (macOS) has a simple "label" to lines where you can choose "Dimension" or "Text". For me it just would be helpful to finally use one application...

I quickly installed V2 and was deeply disappointed, since the dimension lines aren't available finally, despite of being announced. It might be interesting to measure objects, but it's really necessary to have permanent lines with automatically written numbers and units on them. Just look at a technical or architectural drawing. Then you know, what we mean.
So I enjoy having the scales as at least a step in the right direction. But, please, introduce the new line type with automatic numbering printable as soon as possible. Then I may finally leave my old program having these things. I have been waiting urgently for the dimension lines in this new version.

The UI was made smaller in the latest update to accommodate the use of the smaller iPad models with a 7.9" screen. A few users have requested a settings option to return the UI to it's previous size, and so this may be an option we add in the future. In the meantime I'll move this thread to Feature Requests and Feedback so our devs can see your request!

I was wondering if a dimension tool is in the works for Designer. Something that designers/architects can use to label and indicate dimensions on drawings. For example, features such as CADTools ( a plug-in for illustrator), or the dimension tools in iDraw. I think such a tool will be a fantastic addition because I'm an architect and I think all designers of physical objects will probably appreciate it. But overall, I was wondering if such a tool was part of the planned future features roadmap.

Is it possible to set a scale for a document - for example a 1 to 10 so that a 100 cm object in real life is scaled to 10cm but the dimension shown in Designer is 100cm?
I've looked at the grid and axis manager but can't find anything.
