Hi, I tried to open a pdf in Affinity Photo as well as in Affinity Designer and firstly I couldn't select that I only wanted the first page and then I received the error message that there was an error with "parsing". I hope, I translated that correctly from German (Fehler beim Parsen). What is parsing? And - I really like the Affinity products much more than the Adobe products, but as long as Affinity doesn't do some things I need properly I'm stuck with the Adobe stuff as well, just for those things.

What can I do to solve it? Tried it in photoshop version I have from work (but generally don't like and use ;)), but there this worked perfectly.

Hi, I selected an area of a picture, copied it, then made a new document using the "new from clipboard command" and Affinity pasted my selection, but into a far too big canvas. It didn't take my command "new from clipboard" obviously. Could that be a bug?

Hi, I often need to build a new picture from several others and I did that in photoshop by "transforming" the layers ("cmd t" keyboard shortcut). Isn't there anything like that possible in Affinity Photos for Desktop Mac? I couldn't find it at least.

Hi, can somebody tell me why the funktion "copy" is not available after I "selected all" in a document? This is so annoying tonight, I've been trying for hours and it doesn't work! Why????

Hi, I've bought Affinity Photo and I run it on my Mac. As my partners daughter is just starting getting very interested in photography (and I bought her a camera for Christmas), I would also like to introduce her to Affinity Photo, but she has a notebook running on Windows. Can I install a Windows version on her laptop with my license? Best wishes, Christian

Hi DidiS, well - of course Google translator is a good thing. But not for publishing a book which is sold. That would be very unprofessional. But I actually don't think the new Affinity Photo book is translated by Google translator, at least I don't have the impression when I look at the screenshots.

That would interest me too! Google Translator - oh gosh! I would never buy that! Maybe you should pay me a bit and I translate it?

Hi, just a question, because I'm thinking - do you think it is a good idea to buy the Affinity Photo book, if I usually don't do RAW pictures, because I just don't have the room on my computer for such big photo files. I'm doing a lot of video, so I'm a bit limited concerning that. There still a lot of options in JPEG editing, aren't there? I really love it and I'm so happy that their finally is good alternative to the Adobe products, which I don't like at all! Hi, I found an option in the white balance correction to set a preset specification. I thought I could use it for pictures that need the same correction. I saved the preset, but I couldn't find it again. I searched everywhere and also on the net how I could use this preset for other pictures. But I couldn't find an answer! I really tried!

I think, I made it, sorry - it was the aspect ratio checkbox!

Hi, I'd like to create a new batch procession with changing the file size for web use with multiple photos. Unfortunately I don't have a resolution lock option in the export to jpg window. So I have to calculate somewhere else how the relation between height and width is. That is totally unhandy, isn't it?

I've changed to otf fonts which I received from the university and now everything seems to be working.

Thanks - I've tried it now with the new fonts, the university uses, I'm not allowed to put them here, because they are copyrighted, and there was the same problem! But export "text as curves" worked in this case. The problem only exists in Affinity Photo, in no other application I'm using.

No - he's working with Adobe CC.

Actually our graphics guy wrote back that he never had problems with that font so far and he's sending it to print places all the time.

I'm a bit lost now, being a bit new to all this. But I'll try to check what I can do about the font.
