Hi Support and @MikeTO, On my master page, I have picture frames that are facing each other: one is standard, the other one is flipped. I apply this Master to a page and drag the same picture in both frames: the first remains untouched and the second is flipped. Then I choose "Apply Master" and all the sudden the initially flipped picture returns unflipped. So to answer your question: it is the picture frame on the Master that is flipped. Not the image. If I understand properly your comments this means the "flip" operation is reapplied to the image each time the master is reapplied: 1) apply: image is flipped 2) apply: flipped image is flipped -> no longer flipped 3) apply: image is flipped again -> flipped and so on If this is the expected behaviour from Publisher, this is very disturbing. However I doubt it is the case. By the way, if the image in frame on the page (not the master) was resized before, reapplying the Maser will reset the resizing as well. Hi All, I just bought and installed Publisher2. Great update. However same bug: transformation gets re-applied and scaling/positioning are lost after master is reapplied. Rather annoying. I hope it will be fixed now with the release of AP2.

Yes and in addition, any scaling or panning (or other) you apply to an image that was put in a Picture Frame, the changes are lost. So to me 2 issues: the transformation that is applied to a picture from a Master, should always use the original values of the images and not re-apply the transformation to an already transformed image the "re-apply" Master should take into account the changes that were made to the picture on the page using the master. If you spend a lot of time adjusting your images, you will loose everything after a "re-application" of a Master to a spread of pages...

Hello there, I noticed a bug in Affinity Publisher, when you create a picture frame in the Master, apply a vertical flip, say to turn an image upside down, it works properly the first time you use it. However if you later re-apply the Master and choose "migrate", the image will no longer flipped even though in the Master page, the frame is still flipped. This is also the case when you scale and move an image in you spread and re-apply the Master. Your scaling and position are lost. Very annoying. Best regards, JM Publisher 1.10.5 MacOS

Hello, I have a text that will be laid out on 2 columns except the section chapters. However, those need to stay in the text flow but temporarily switch to 1 column. Is that possible? The first image shows this in InDesign (an image, I don't have the source) and the second attachment shows what I have currently. Thx in advance for your help. Cheers, JM

I found the issue. I had to adapt Bottom distance to the text. However a bit surprised of the big steps it was jumping while changing mm by mm.

Hi support, I just created a file today where I wanted to add a vector object to. It is actually a vector shape that comes from Designer. With tight text wrap, it behaves strangely by leaving a kind of hole in the text. It shouldn't actually wrap that way. It should look like the other example. The initial file comes from an Adobe InDesign. I copied the vector into Designer. Was clean there and copied again into my Publisher document. Still same wrapping issue. Any idea? Best regards, JMB

Hello, I have exactly the same issue: my MacOS UI and AFP are set to use English Language. However my keyboard and spelling settings are set to "Automatic". For some reason AFP gets confused since it looks for a en-CH dictionary that doesn't exist. Yes, I switch between several languages. It is my reality. Now I don't understand why I can't make AFP understand that my document is this time in French. Well it partly understands: I changed the language for all text fields and in the "base" text style. Ok it works: no more red underline, but preflight still complaints that "Missing dictionary for language (en-CH)". This dictionary doesn't exist that is correct, but why is AFP believing it has to find it? It seems confused that I use a EN HMI both for MacOS and AFP and that I try to spell French. This assumption is ridiculous, since only the text language setting shall be taken into account which in my case is fr-CH... It is exactly the same issue as described by Norway4T. Please AFP team fix this issue and stop assuming that the HMI language shall be the one to use for spelling...

Hi There. I am working on an iMac on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H1030), and an iPad Pro 10.5 iOS 14.5.1 attached via lightning cable with sidecar enabled in extended mode.

I encourage you to look at the slice tutorials. They explain when transparency is taken into account and when not. Hope it will help.

Additional information: if I switch to another persona and the Touch Bar content gets changed, when I switch back to Pixel persona, the Touch Bar and AD toolbar states gets refreshed: if it "protect alpha" was enabled on the Touch Bar, now the it is checked on the application toolbar.

Hello, I am currently using an iPad with sidecar. There you get a Touch Bar. Some buttons seem not to properly work. For example when in the Pixel persona and brush, clicking on the "Force Pressure", "Wet edges" or "Protect Alpha" on the Touch Bar, won't affect the buttons in the toolbar of the Mac application. However it works the other way round: if I enable/disable on the Mac application toolbar, the Touch Bar buttons get properly synced ("checked" on the application makes the corresponding Touch Bar button checked as well).

Hi there, Today I was experiencing with image brushes and paths. It worked a while and then suddenly as soon as I tried to start a new path with my custom image brush Affinity Designer crashed. And from that point, when reopening the file, when I tried to use the custom image brush, it crashed again and again. Hope the crash log will help. Best regards, JM Borer

Hi all, I was really thrilled when Publisher came out since I use with great joy the other products from Affinity. I was looking for a replacement of Pages to give me more advanced control over the publishing, but I don't create leaflets or magazines. I need to publish documents with text that spans over several dozens of pages. I also wanted to create several master pages and select among them which should be used and therefore expected that it would be possible to create text placeholders on the Masters where you could define the flows. Unfortunately this seems not possible with Publisher 1.7.128, since it is not possible to create those text block placeholders... or am I missing something here? I fear I have to stick to Pages and probably I won't buy Publisher since I could almost do everything I need in Designer... @Affinity, please add support for long text books and text blocks placeholders in Masters. Hi there, I am missing a function during the export where I would like to be able to export several versions of a slice layer. I want ,for example, to hide/show some items for a layer slice and and have other slices from the same layer but with other hidden/shown sub-layers. It is already possible to hide some sub-layers today when you create a layer slice, but you cannot create other slices for this same layer. Would be very handy when exporting an image with several variations. For example, I am creating a splash screen (upper left) that will also be used in the "about" dialog (left bottom). The only difference is that there is progress bar. So during the export I would like to create two slices from the same upper left image: one including the progress and the other having it hidden. Could be very easily done by using two slice definitions from the same layer where one would just have the progress bar layer hidden and the other one not. I could so work on a single image instead of having to use 2 images that I need to maintain/edit...

Forget about my request. I found the "Create Compound" in the Layer menu. I just was confused because this option is not available in the popup menu of the Layers palette when you select several layers. Maybe something to add there, no? Cheers, DrM0lek

Hello guys, I was wondering if it is possible to do non desctructive boolean operation and yes it is possible. My only regret is that is very hidden. Wouldn't it be possible to create a "compound" group directly in the "Layers"? Say you select several shapes and you have the option to create compound group with a default boolean operation which you can change for every object afterwards? Other thing, it is really hidden that you have to alt-click a boolean operation to make it non desctructive. Would it be possible at least to add something in the tooltip and even better indicate on the boolean operation there is more that one op? You could fore example popup a menu if you click and hold on the boolean operation. Cheers, DrM0lek

Hello guys, I was playing around with the FX effects which are great. However I was wondering if you still plan Multiple Effects/Fills/Strokes per shape? In the past I was using SketchApp, which introduced the possibility to apply add basic effects to your shapes/group of shapes (as shown in the attached images). I found this very powerful, because you could easily combine basic effects into advanced effects, and honestly your imagination was the only limit. In Affinity Designer, the effects are OK, but you could push it a bit further if you let the user compose its own FX combinations. For example, I wouldn't need a bewel FX if I can combine two inner shadows effects, no? Cheers, DrM0lek
