  1. Ok so I MAY have found a way to do it! So I was playing about the other day in affinity and got an Astro image that I had and copied it so there were 2 exact images then opened them both up in affinity. With the 1st one I used the selection tool to select the foreground and edit that. Then I opened the 2nd image and selected the sky/stars and edited that. Then I copied the sky from the second image and pasted it onto/over the sky of the first image and it seemed to work. I’m not sure if there’s an easier or better way but I did it. In reality there would be stacked images of the foreground, image 1. Then there would be tracked and stacked images of the stars, image 2. Then using the method above it should in theory work the same! Please let me know if it works for you. 👍
  2. I’ve not taken any yet! From what I’ve read it says to compose the image then take several shots focusing on the foreground. Then take tracked shots of the sky/stars and then simply blend the two. I’m wondering whether it really is that simple or there is more to it.
  3. Yes as I’m not going to change the composition. The foreground will have several images to stack which should cut down on noise. The sky/stars will be tracked and also will contain several images but it’s how to combine the two images after stacking which I’m not sure of.
  4. Hello I wonder if someone can help. I’m no stranger to Affinity Photo as I’ve used it for a few years but I’m looking to process landscape astrophotography images. Currently, I use the selection tool and highlight a certain area to work on. However, I’ve recently bought a star tracker and am looking to process tracked images but cannot find anywhere in Affinity to blend stacked foreground and tracked sky images. I’m aware if the new astrophotography section in the recent update but as far as i can see it’s for deep space astrophotography. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Many thanks in advance.
  5. Hello. Many thanks for the replies. Im hoping to trial merging for a star spiral image and Im thinking its gonna be in the region of about 20 images to start just so can get a feel for it.. Ive only got 4GB RAM so I may struggle a bit but we'll see. Thanks very much again.
  6. Hello. I'm new to Affinity having recently bought Affinity Photo, and to this forum but could I please get some advice from someone? I plan to do some astrophotography soon which will entail taking several shots. I then plan to edit them and then stack or merge the images together to form one image. My question is, is there a limit to how many images can Affinity edit simultaneously and then how many can be stacked or merged together? Many thanks in advance.
