  1. Wold be great if you could add graphic frames for text in the smart shapes tool like the other smart shapes that adjust. This could be very useful, especially since one always has to go search for that prefect frame, then you still have to adjust it to fit the text you need. This way it would all be smartly adjustable with all the curves and cutouts that these frames have.
  2. MEB, I looked there and I can't find how to get alternate glyphs to show. I know this is a virtually an undiscussed subject, but every once in a while there is a glyph that works better.
  3. Where can I find this in Designer? I have a font that I can't access the all the stylistic alternates. Not really sure if I am looking in the right place.
  4. Being that these outlines are a unconventional way to show snapping, I think this feature should be rethought. I agree with newcomers that they are distracting and I have to go unclick the snapping button because I need to see the design not snapping outlines everywhere. BUT I still need snapping, so please figure this out.
  5. Flatten image then use PDF Flatten, redundant I know but it always works for me. Also, if you're sending this file to a printer agency, then they should provide you with a ratio version that you can send them then they should be able to upscale from that. I send billboards that will be 14ft x 48ft wide to our printer and we send them a ratio equivalent in 300 dpi and work with that. Not sure if it's 10:1 or something like that.
  6. My only guess because they are taking a long time to release a beta, add in that they needed to hire an experienced, excellent PR person, Serif is gearing up for an earth shattering news release! My guess is its going to go to all the big graphic and photo communications newsletters. This takes money and time and not to mention a whole new set of new features video. Let's cross our fingers its coming soon!
  7. RC-R you made it sound like you needed to have a vector in a layer in order for the vector crop tool to work, whether its cropping a document or object, I was just saying that the crop tool in AD can work on a pixel or image layer. That is all.
  8. Designer. I understand that in AD, the crop tool is different in many ways, but in terms of making a pixel or image layer not visible, it is possible in AD. I would like to see an overlay preview though.
  9. R C-R, I am not sure this is correct. I just tried it on pixel layers and image layers and it works fine.
  10. No there isn't. This feature will be available in Publisher, the layout app coming later this year. You have to create multiple text boxes to continue your text.
  11. Just uploaded a little video showing how to use the Inpainting Fill function to add image to a canvas. https://youtu.be/hY22H7_Epl4
  12. I think that it looks like 1.5 is going to be epic as far as features is concerned, but what would most be appreciated I think, is if you would just do a little more house cleaning? MBd mentioned many things but I do tend to agree that having a stable fixed MAS versions with small but significant fixes would be more beneficial in the short term. Example: expanded strokes fix-would be a HUGE deal. Same goes for other tools. We as users will eventually get tired of repeating the same issue and shall say well you know you can comment all you want on a certain bug but we can't influence them enough to make a difference. I don't want Serif to be that company. Look at Pixelmator, had a chance to be the PS incumbent but they're still worthless to professionals because they are on they're own schedule, no vision in that company. But on the contrary and in the long term, having the new features that are coming, for me, is like saying that day is going to be like Christmas morning, and we all can/have to wait for that.
  13. You are probably going to find photos like this on stock photos sites. If you mean you want to create it as in paint it or something like that, then I guess with patience and a good study you could do it. That's not very clear in your post.
  14. With all your knowledge Paolo, I'm surprised you're not working for Serif! You should be! Get pen settings to where it needs to be! There's lots of competition out there.
  15. A much simpler reflective globe from a while back, AD can do these steps with no problem. https://youtu.be/Rmh7PoEO99c
  16. Then when you open the PSD file, having the mask selected in the layers panel, you can simply "Select from layer" and you get the exact selection (even the refined one). Not sure I see where this is in PS? Can you explain where this is?
  17. No there is, plenty, just didn't add it in. Didn't think I needed to since I am only wanting to move all things inside the vector mask. I am looking for the functionality of Lock Children of AP is another way of asking this.
  18. MEB, I should've said clipped group then I have a rectangle to vector mask (what I'm calling a clip) it.
  19. It's Friday and you know what that means Affinity! Looking forward to the new beta.
  20. I haven't found a way to edit (move) the contents inside a clip group in AD without releasing it. Is it possible to do it without having to do this?
  21. NOTE: FIXED MY ERROR, nothing wrong with the bevel. I realized I added a stroke to the text and the bevel was on the stroke so I eliminated the stroke and changed a few settings in bevel effects and fixed it. :)
  22. Hopefully adding a chisel style to the bevel options in the effects panel would be a great improvement. Attached are the differences, as you can see the PS version bevel is more natural in the interior angles of the text.
  23. David4, what is your question? You'll get better results if you just ask without any references to other posts or quotes. It gets confusing. I thought Callum answered you just fine and then you came back with another vague answer to that. It will eventually discourage people from answering your questions.
